Just throw AWS, at the first it's vendor lock and the second they don't provide anything exclusive that you can't reach without their platform. Better to focus on dev ops and later you'll see what you can assemble all AWS features absolutely fo free (in case if you have your own bare metal servers)
Amazon is going to have us all on a leash especially for operations that run entirely cloud based. I can think of quite a few companies that have no physical assets. Although what they offer is really incredible.
