#006 Ingress vs Egress Network Traffic explained and defined

Ingress network traffic

is composed of all the data communications and network traffic originating from an external networks and destined for a node in the host network.

Egress network traffic

is all traffic is directed towards an external network and originated from inside the host network.
It is the reverse of ingress traffic.

Cloud POV

When we look at those terms from a Cloud prospective we can conclude:

Egress means exiting the cloud. Ingress means entering the cloud.
