When I was in the second grade, I was obsessed with Star Wars. My school had just bought some Apple II computers, and my teacher wheeled one into the classroom one day to show off what she did at night school. She put a floppy in the drive, booted it up, and an ASCII R2-D2 popped up on the screen, accompanied by the Star Wars theme in glorious 8-bit beeps and boops. I had to learn how to do that. So, at the age of six I started on my journey of for loops and print statements.
By the mid-1990s, I was calling BBSs and taking my first steps on the Internet. At first, I dismissed the web as "just Gopher with graphics". But, it grew on me and by 1996 I was building web pages for myself and organizations I was in.
I started my programming career in 1999. Even though I made the transition to management a few years ago, I still love coding and try to create useful open source tools when I have free time.

I work for 10up, a web agency driven to create fun, empowering publishing experiences that make it easy for people to create content for their company, publication, or organization. Most of our projects are powered by WordPress, either directly or as the REST back-end to a React project.
My personal projects are mostly in node.js these days.
I mostly program in these languages: PHP, JavaScript (ES2015 & node.js), TypeScript.
I am currently learning more about leadership and functional programming.
