Thanks for bringing this up. This is probably worthy of a blog post on its own as there are at least a couple of related considerations:

TDD can be a teaching aid. It can help you learn a new framework with a test-by-test approach.
To your point, TDD won’t have anything to say about idiomatic usage of languages or frameworks. I‘ve found myself in this same position before.
