How it went Today ! And Happy Diwali in Advance

On November 9, 2023, as I was going to college, I felt a bit sad. Lots of students were happily going back to their hometowns for Diwali as it is coming in few days, carrying trolley bags and campus felt so empty. It made me miss home. But no worries, I've decided to go home tomorrow too.😎

At 10:05 PM on the same day, I'm winding down my day by penning this blog. Unfortunately, I didn't accomplish many tasks today as I fell sick upon reaching my dormitory, courtesy of seasonal allergies. Consequently, I opted for some much-needed rest.

Since I don't have much to write about today, let's delve into the Festival of Lights—Diwali.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a culturally significant celebration in India. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on November 12, 2023. This festival holds deep-rooted historical and religious significance marking the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. It is commonly associated with the triumph of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, as recounted in the epic Ramayana.

Beyond its religious origins, Diwali also symbolizes the beginning of a new year and is a time for family gatherings, feasts, firing crackers and the exchange of gifts. (Sonpapadi is a famous sweet in India, that is exchanged the most in Indian households and among neighbours😂)

The lighting of oil lamps, decorating homes with colorful rangoli, and bursting fireworks are traditional customs that add to the festive spirit, fostering a sense of unity and shared joy among communities across the country.

Diwali serves as a reminder of the enduring values of compassion, hope, and the triumph of righteousness, making it a cherished and widely celebrated occasion in the diverse tapestry of Indian culture.

Sincerely,
Abhishek😉
