How do I build A site similar to crack.com or louderwithcrowder.com.

I'm building comedy website where I can publish articles…All I know is HTML, CSS and a little bit of JavaScript. Am I to novice for this project? Im building this site for a friend so I can show on my portfolio..What is the best approach to completing a website like this for a noob like me?

louderwithcrowder.com is a website for fascists. I wouldn't recommend building a site similar to that one.

Hahaha no not at all. I've watched his content for years but I haven't seen anything really fascist yet........... Then again I might be a unicorn here and say that I am a conservative getting into the tech field lol

That would be my last option and problem solved, I'll have a website for this client..
But I'm trying to test myself as a developer and show off my skill on my portfolio but I also don't want to take on a project to big and mess it up since I am dealing with a real client

I mean the answer is obvious
Don't test your self as a developer on real clients project

It seems like quite a lot of work even for a seasoned developer. I would recommend starting with a CMS as your base. Pick something that you are familiar with and that will let you easily add customizations.

If you can get by with a static site, you could look into static site generators too.

Using a site like wordpress would get the job done but would it be anything worth showing on my portfolio? Should I try to modify in a small way or creating my own layout without using their premade layouts?
