Slack is increasingly used by work teams focused on one or several projects at the same time. In addition, it should be noted that Slack is compatible with other platforms, so it can be perfectly integrated with other services and tools that complement the functions and make work easier. However, Slack comes with many features by default, such as the ability to display two Slack channels or chats at once.

If you have ever had several simultaneous conversations through Slack, you may be annoyed by having to switch between these conversations using the mouse through the menu on the left side of the interface. Well, Slack has a built-in option called: Split View.
What happens is that Slack will split the view of the interface showing 2 columns of content. This way you can keep two chats open at the same time in the same Slack window. This will allow you to have two conversations simultaneously without having to select one and the other each time you want to send a message.

Open the Slack program for Windows or Mac or if you prefer, access Slack on the web version from your browser.
Once you have logged in, you will need to click on any of the items on the left section of the screen.
This will make for example a chat to be shown in the main part.
The next thing will be to hold down the Ctrl key on Windows or the Cmd key on Mac.
Without releasing the key, you must click on any other element on the left side of the interface.
After clicking, for example, on a channel, you will see how this channel opens on the right side of the program's interface, leaving the previous conversation visible plus the new one selected.
By default the second element that we open in Slack will be shown somewhat narrower, however, you can modify the size of any of the columns by simply clicking and holding on the separation between the two columns and dragging it to the right or left .
When they have the desired width, release the mouse and now each conversation will have the desired size.

On the other hand, if you press the key again and select another item from the left menu, it will replace the chat that is further to the right.
If at any time you want to return to the individual view, you will only have to click on the X icon in the column on the right side of the screen.
