Introducing yourself to a new online community is exciting, but it can also be intimidating. Here are some ideas for intros that will help you connect with other members of the DEV and CodeNewbie communities:
- Share your background and interests. This can help others get to know you and find common ground for conversation.
- Talk about why you joined the community and what you hope to gain from being a part of it. This can help you find others who have similar goals or interests.
- Ask for advice or recommendations. This can help you build relationships and learn more about the community.
- Share a fun fact about yourself. It’s a great ice-breaker and conversation starter.
- Talk about your favorite hobby or activity. This can help you find common ground and build relationships.

Say Hi! to others in the thread. If you see somebody introducing themselves, consider dropping a like or a response to show them some appreciation. Enthusiasm is contagious!

Hello everyone! I'm Angela, I'm primarily a Shopify developer but I love learning to code; mostly front end. I've dived into HTML and CSS and have a basic understanding of JS. What I'd actuallly love to do is eventually get into Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking. (which honestly seem ridiculous since Ive been having trouble wrapping my head around JS.) So if anyone has any recommendations for resources or a good place to start I would love to hear them!
I'm not new, I've been around for some years but I've never really dived into the discussions because I don't feel like I know enough about code or the coding space. One of my goals for this year is to participate more, so here I am.
I love reading and crocheting, and learning random things. I have a flock of backyard chickens, and slightly feral children. I would love to get to know more people here and learn about your interests and experiences. Please feel free to say hi!
welcome angela!
Hi, full-stack dev since 2007 here. Jumped a few tech stacks but have now been full-stack + mobile + infra JS/TS for 3+ years. Been lurking around here but decided to try and produce some content of my own.

Hey people! My name is Jorge and I’m new here. I’m starting a coding bootcamp in June and excited to get started. I’m terrible at social media but I want to get better at networking. I will try and post when I can and really engage with this community. I really excited about becoming a full stack developer. I know this will help.
hey Jorge, looking forward to seeing your coding journey!
Hi everyone!
My name is Farai and I have a couple of years of experience working as a frontend engineer. I had a great time helping my team build our company’s multi-themed design system using React. I stumbled upon this community after recently getting laid off and I love the content that I have encountered thus far. I’m hoping to learn a lot from the community and to practice my writing.
When I’m neither coding nor searching for a new job, you can probably find me at the local gym or at home playing video games or watching anime. I hope to see you all around.
welcome to the community Farai!
