Platforms I am using to help land a Front-end Developer job...

Hello Developers!

It has now been 1 and a half months since I finished my SheCodes course, so what am I doing now job hunt-wise.

1. LinkedIn

I am being more active on LinkedIn, trying to expand my network. I scroll each day, and try to post as much as I can. Not only do I scroll and post but I also apply for at least 2-3 jobs a day. This is either for junior roles, entry level rolls or internships. You have to get your CV out there, this is so incredibly important!

2. #100daysofcode challenge

On Twitter, there is a popular challenge called #100daysofcode. What you have to do is code everyday for 100 days and then tweet what you have done or explain what you have done. It is a great way to keep in the habit of coding, sgowcasing your work and also you are still learning all sorts of new things.

At the moment, I am halfway through and I really want to carry on and do the #365daysofcode...how hard can that be?!

So this brings me onto number 3...Twitter.

3. Twitter

Posting regularly on Twitter is just as important as posting regularly on LinkedIn, in my opinion. Twitter is another great place to showcase your work and learn new things. You can also find jobs on Twitter too. I think it is a necessity for Developers to have a Twitter account.

4. General Job Hunt

Lastly, I am just finding any suitable Developer job I can and applying! Yes, most of the time I don't hear anything back, but I keep going. There is a job out there, I've just got to keep pushing to find it.

Conclusion

So to conclude, job hunts can be slow and tough, but the more you work, practice and showcase your work, the quicker it will be and the more likely you will get the job you want.

So if you haven't got LinkedIn or Twitter make sure you get it, as it is so important as a Developer to be active on these platforms, and give yourself a challenge....do the #100daysofcode challenge. It is brilliant!!

In the meantime, I am going to write more blogs here regularly, carry on with being active and just working on projects and if you're on the job hunt too, don't give up...

Keep coding 😁
