How do you pimp your blog post?

I just wrote my first blog post here at dev.to but found it difficult to pimp it with emojis and highlights.

How do you add emojis? What other tips do you have to make articles visually pleasing and interesting?

For emojis I just copy and paste from emojipedia

Using triple caret(`) to embed code is something nifty I've used before. Also you can use Jekyll front matter

This post also gives some general guidelines.

I usually forget emojis. All the other markdown bits and bobs can be found in the editor guide though. dev.to/p/editor_guide

On Mac you can use Control+Command+Space to open the Character-Viewer which can be used to add every single Character/Emoji/Rune/Weird-letter there is.
