I havenāt validated my HTML code until one of my managers asked me to.
Now I read Jens Meierts article The 3-Second Frontend Developer Test where he says that companies should ask about validation when they hire a frontend developer.
He goes on, validation would show āfoundational knowledgeā, ābase qualityā, āprofessional conductā and āaspirationā.
Thereās probably a point here given his focus on HTML. And I think my knowledge of HTML did indeed improve after I had to validate.
But Iām not sure we should only be hired if we validate.
What is your experience?
Do you validate your HTML?
If not, why not?
Or, what would convince you validate your HTML?
