I would not want to work for any company that puts a big emphasis on having a "good" GitHub. That's a major red flag for me.
It's a nice to have, but even then, in my several years experience I don't think I've ever had a company I've interviewed with look at the GitHub projects I listed on my resume.
For those with no work experience at all it is likely more helpful, but because you have some experience now I wouldn't worry too much about it.
