I think the idea is interesting, mostly because of the price and the hype they are able to create around it. However, I think I will stick with the good old ESP32, the fact that the Pico lacks wifi/bluetooth (for me) makes it rather useless. Am I missing something here?

I think the wireless connectivity is definitely worth noting - for the moment - there are likely to be future versions that add that, if the Zero/Zero W are anything to go by (and I strongly suspect a third party will get there first, using the RP2040). I certainly have a lot of ESP8266 and ESP32 devices as well, and get a lot of value from these, but the ecosystem that is already being built around the RP2040 makes it interesting for me to learn. Thanks for the thoughts! Exciting times for makers.
