So there's this pretty popular image sharing website called "DeviantArt".
Now, it has been around for a while, in fact, the service has been around for as long as if not longer than public image-generation AIs.
Now, NoAI is most definitely an internet-wide discussion. Nothing about it is specific to DeviantArt, however, for some reason this seems to be where the issue is hitting the worse.
You remember all those hurtful comments you may have got on StackOverflow for asking a stupid question, or accidentally skimming over something in your own code?
Well put that methylprednisolone and you got the comment section of all the NoAI posts on D.A.
For a better overview, read the description of “NoNoAI: the NoAI movement has gone too far.”.
As an example of the toxicity, you could be neutral and someone will say that you not being on either side (or in my case, really not all too interested in the outcome) is fake.
Additionally, if you so much as advocate for AI, even if it was regulated, you can be called an R-slur because in someone else's words, verbatim:
May I remind you a debate has one side that is fact and the other that isn’t,
I don't think StackOverflow was even this bad. [Disprove me in the comments. :þ]
Let me know what your experiences/opinions on the situation are.
