(Way) Back in the day, I was revising the TOPS-10 Utilities Manual. It had tabbed sections, including one called "Miscellaneous," which I thought a worthless section title.
I found homes in other sections for all but two utilities, which were:
- PAT: Modify (patch) compiled object code.
- ZAP: Modify running machine code.
I figured these belonged together, but didn't have a good idea for the section title. So I asked an OS developer.
His answer:
- Section title: "Read Me Last!"
- Illustration: Dev with gun pointed at own head.
