The case agains modal windows

Just stumbled upon https://youdontneedamodalwindow.dev

here are the 4 reasons listed by the author :

• Modal windows can't be bookmarked or shared as links. (...)
  • Modal windows can't be opened in a new tab. (...)

• Modal windows make the Back button confusing. (...)
• Modal windows are hard to get right. (...)

Right now on a Ghost install the subscribe to newsletter and search open modals. I'd rather have it otherwise. What do you think ?
