Hey devs,
I am a frontend developer, I don't design mockups or wireframes. The UX team provide those for me. I just build them using code! đź’»
I have been thinking lately about taking UX courses and put myself in their shoes. Mainly because I want to be able to build cooler looking websites even in my free time. ( Just like my personal website )
Aside from the fact that learning is cool and important for everyone whatever his profession is,
- Is learning UX particularly important for frontend devs? 🤔
- Can it impact dev's career somehow? 🤔
- Will it make a better developer? 🤔

I wouldn't say learning UX is mandatory. But you do gain a lot of empathy for the users when learning it.
For that alone, I think it is worth learning.
That and making cool looking websites is always a delight!
Hey Desiré,
Thanks for your comment! I totally agree đź’™
I always felt that UI/UX requires more "Creative" or "Artistic" talent that I do not have. But, I think its time for me to at least try it. As you said, It will help with building my own projects with higher quality.
To be really good at UI, yes you do need a artistic side but there's a lot of basic stuff that you can learn en build nice UI without the need of the artistic touch especially if you build webapp.
I highly recommend it and one day you might even spot error or better things the designer could've done
