LocalHackDay - A nirvana for budding developers!

LocalHackDay is a weeklong contest held by Major League Hacking, that challenges developers to try new things, meet new people and basically just bring out the best out of themselves!

My learnings at local hack day

The best thing I learnt at localhackday was to manage time efficiently. I learnt how I should be dividing my time effectively in order to maximise results and learn more.
I learnt a lot of new technologies and expanded my tech stack.

Couple of new technologies I learnt were-

  • Go programming language
  • Context API and RxJs for react
  • Flask
  • Cockroach DB
  • OpenCV

Selected Projects I built

  • Tweet Scheduler - This is a webapp where the user can enter the tweet and time it needs to posted and the tweet automatically gets posted on the scheduled time.

  • Expense Manager powered by voice recognition - This is a expense tracker which can be used solely by voice.

  • Object recognizer - This is a basic image recognition project which highlight the object in the webcam frame.

  • Chess game - This is webapp where the user can play a 2-player chess game

Other projects include TicTacToe game, motivational quote generator, sms and email sending system, authentication system among many others
