The amazing meetup was hosted by Dipali Kulshrestha, Rajat Kapoor and Tajinder Singh, the AWS User Group Delhi leaders and the industry pioneers with decade worth of experience.
The event kicked off with a keynote by Ridhima Kapoor, Developer Marketing Manager at AWS. Her speech delved deep into various programs offered under the AWS communities such as AWS User Groups, AWS Cloud Clubs, AWS Heroes and AWS Community Builders.
Following that, Rajat Arora, Vice President, Principal Engineer at Natwest Group as well as AWS UG Delhi Leader delved into the latest compute and developer tools, highlighting the recent innovations and announcements at the re:Invent 2023. He discussed the newly launched EC2 High Memory U7i instances, Amazon Braket Direct, recent AWS Lambda advancements that have made it scale 12 times faster and reduce the "Noisy Neighbour Effect". Additionally, he spoke about Developer Tools in Application Development, AWS SDKs for Kotlin and Rust, and several other developer advancements in the AWS ecosystem.
Tajinder Singh, Vice President at RBS as well as AWS UG Delhi Leader talked about management and governance aspect in AWS. He covered topics such as AWS Config, Amazon CloudWatch, Cost Optimization Hub, highlighting how these tools can help to reduce and optimize the costs in an AWS infrastructure. Tajinder also provided insights into data management, including the use of Mountpoint for S3, Data replication for FSx, AWS B2B Data Interchange and AWS Elastic DR validation automation.
Dipali Kulshrestha, Vice President - Data Engineering at Natwest, AWS UG Delhi Leader and AWS Hero, delved into Generative AI and its trends. She talked about the Generative AI Stack, Amazon Bedrock and foundational AI models. In the context of her presentation, Dipali highlighted how Foundational AI Models play a crucial role in enabling generative AI capabilities. These models are pre-trained on vast amounts of data and are designed to understand and generate human-like responses, whether in the form of text, images, or other types of content. She also discussed Knowledge Bases for Amazon Bedrock, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), Agents for Amazon Bedrock and Partyrock.
Following that, Ruchi Kapur, Solutions Architect - GFS at AWS demonstrated the power of Amazon Q and Codewhisperer's capabilities including how it can simplify the developer's journey and help them with the day-to-day activities for providing the suggestive coding standards and also helps them to provide a platform for developing and testing code.
The event included a fantastic quiz conducted by the AWS UG Delhi NCR team featuring questions from the topics covered in the event. The top 5 winners were rewarded with amazing AWS swags.
