ChatGPT already uses the Github Copilot model, Codex, so you are actually using Codex beneath but with some extra steps and you are paying the double amount for it, since codex cost 9$. Using ChatGPT is for free. Good try OpenAI employee! =P
it would be cheaper to use the ChatGPT interface on openai.com instead, it's free at this moment in time.
Exactly what i also said. They are also missing that ChatGPT uses the Codex model beneath so they are actually interacting with Codex which is the same as Github Copilot.
interesting, didn't know that.
how does it compare to similar code generation tools in terms of compatibility with other tools or extensions?
@elliot_brenya
This depends on the model you want to use.
The extension allows you to select different AI models available by OpenAI.
For example, the code-cushman-001 and code-davinci-002 models come from the Codex family. The same one used by Github Copilot
Alright I get it
Thanks. I have also added the link to ChatGPT browser version.
