Jira issue types or any project types can now be integrated seamlessly with AssetIT, as we just released the latest version: AssetIT Version 1.4.14 with many enhancements related to AssetIT panels.

We’re thrilled to announce that AssetIT version 1.4.14 for Cloud is now live, introducing fresh updates and innovative features designed to enhance asset management within your Jira ecosystem. This update brings a new way to handle assets with the Linked Assets Panel, which offers a more efficient and user-friendly experience in managing resources and linking assets directly to Jira projects and for all Jira issue types. The Linked Assets Panel is our most exciting addition to AssetIT! This feature replaces Atlassian’s External Asset Platform field, set to be retired on December 31st, 2024, and offers an improved way to manage and access assets within Jira.

1. Enable the Linked Assets Panel for Jira Issue Types

  • From within a Jira project, navigate to Project Settings > Apps > AssetIT integration.

  • Select the Jira issue types that you want the AssetIT panels to display

2. Utilizing the JSM Customer Portal

  • With this new update, JSM customers can now request multiple items or resource types at once, directly from the JSM customer portal. What’s more, after submitting the request tickets, customers can also see the detailed information on the linked assets. This provides a streamlined approach for customers needing resource information related to their support tickets, all from within a single view.

3. Updating Asset Details

Within Jira, team members can now update key asset information—such as status, assignee, and check-in/check-out details—directly through the Linked Assets Panel. This enables faster updates and more efficient tracking, especially useful for service teams managing large volumes of assets.
