Once I started my first post-bootcamp job, I didn't really focus much on being part of the developer community. It wasn't important to my company, and since I hadn't yet found a place where I felt comfortable in the developer community space, I let myself put it on the back burner.
I totally relate to this. I had no idea there were so many meetups and things in the Indianapolis area, so I had no idea what I was missing. The company I was at didn't even encourage the developer team to interact with one another, so of course they didn't encourage you taking yourself out into the bigger developer world to meet people and network!
It was great meeting you in the CodeNewbie chat tonight. Hope to see you around here and on Twitter as well. 😊
