Modeling: make inside faces colored, differentiate between the outside and inside faces in Blender

Ever wonder how to make the inside faces of an object to be more visible in Blender? You don't need any special add-on. It's a feature called face orientation. Here's how to use it:

  1. You can enable this feature under the Viewport Overlays menu, as shown in the screenshot below:

  2. However, the default color for face orientation will overlay the object's material color, as shown in the screenshot below:

    If you just want to differentiate between the outside and inside faces without overlaying the object's material color, you can set the theme for the face orientation feature in Edit > Preferences > Themes > 3D Viewport and set the front side color's alpha to 0, as shown in the screenshot below:
