After watching "The Social Dilemma" on Netflix, I'm now keenly interested in Internet Privacy, and, more broadly, the ways in which private organizations follow us across websites and collect our data.
Does anyone have any recommendations on ways to prevent private organizations from following you around?
I currently use the Firefox web browser and Ghosterly. Sometimes, I use Tor.
Also, could someone suggest resources to learn more about internet privacy?

I use DuckDuckGo as my default search engine (failing over to Google when necessary). I also use Signal messenger and encourage my close contacts to do the same.
I strongly recommend following DuckDuckGo's blog. They do a good job covering consumer privacy beyond their own product.
I also recommend the Electronic Frontier Foundation. They have a solid blog. They're definitely ideologues, and I don't always agree with them, but they are very well informed.
They also have a suite of browser extensions to help with privacy and security in the browser.
