See, I thought the same thing. Even tried the padding-top trick but nothing seems to work... I think there are just too many hard coded values from the last dev that worked on it.

Sounds like you are trying to keep the aspect ratio not the resolution of the child apps.
So you need to scale the child apps down so their x and y values are the same aspect as the parent app window of 1920x1080 which is 16:9.
