Oh yes! I could have definitely been more clear here. I had a bit on history I took out. But basically, Linus Torvalds the creator of Linux, created it as his thesis project in college and did so because he wanted customization and to not pay for UNIX. So it wasn't created with the general population in mind. But of course many Linux distributions since have and do! :) Hope that clears up some confusion.
