If the normal react can build Progressive Web Apps using html, with the full power of html and css and typescript / JavaScript, and these PWA apps can run on any platform, why would there be a need for react native? Just a question :-)
iOS Safari does not support Web Push notifications. So you are forced to make a native app of some sorts to get push notifs on iOS.
I believe the appeal to this method is that you'd be able to publish to the iOS App Store.
