If you work on code also think about people who'll read the code in the future (even if it's just you). I mean, it's important to know what's in there and why anytime you look back at the code.
I couldn't agree more! I actually returned yesterday to a project I started a few months ago and couldn't remember how to run the tests. Once I'd worked it out again, the first thing I did was to add the instructions to the README so I wouldn't forget again.
