I myself am currently in the same spot, have to create a library but using the WWW creates more confusion than it tries to solve them.
I thought as well to write down my findings, more related to react, typescript and Sass modules, which will likely happen in a few days. But your post helped out a lot in clearing things out, thanks!

I can only encourage you to write down your final solution. I could imagine there are not so many complete guides out there for your specific language and library combination.
