Can we develop our own Play Store !
All must be aware about the Google detonated some of the renowned Indian startups. Tech giant insisting on collecting charges ranging from 11 per cent to 26 per cent on in-app transactions which are very high with the perspective of the new aged Indian startups.
Google’s attempt of filling it’s pocket by cutting the pocket’s of Indian startups is highly condemned by many big startup founders. Internet and Mobile Association of India released a letter where they strongly condemned the move of google and demanded reinstate them. IAMAI’s governing council also called the delisting of apps unfair and disproportionate.
This attempt of google has opened the gates of Tech enthusiasts and giants of Indian Engineering ecosystem to come along and start a revolutionary journey towards creation of Swadeshi Made in India Play store.
If India can Develop UPI then Why not their own App Store!
Phonepe took a initiative back in September 2023 and launched the swadeshi app store names Indus which didn’t charge any commissions for the first year of listing. Indus was focused on catering the developers who are upset from Google’s delayed replays.
There are many attempts taken by companies in India to remove Google from market in some sense but It was never been easy. But this dictatorial behavior is pushing the giants in India to explore this subject and make a differentiator in the area by making a unicorn App store community where Indian Developers and startup ecosystem can breath well and survive.
