Identity Community Hour - 08/20/2020

Another Thursday another Community Hour. If you missed our live stream, you can catch it on demand here. This time around we had some technical issues (MS Teams was playing up) so instead of doing our regular community shout out, we jumped straight into the show and tell with our amazing guest, Richard Timmering who works as a Cloud Solution Architect and loves identity - I mean, who doesn't, right?

Community Shout out

Just because we couldn't do it live on the show, doesn't mean that we should miss out on the opportunity to celebrate the people that work with our platform and create content that helps the community. So, without further ado, here's this week's interesting content:

Azure Active Directory Application Proxy

For this week's Community Hour we were very fortunate to have Richard to talk to us about Application Proxy which can be used to provide secure remote access to on-premises web applications. With great support for single sign-on via Azure AD, users can access both cloud and on-premises applications through either an external URL or an internal application portal. Richard spent most of the 1h 20mins walking us through the process of setting up App Proxy from scratch and configuring Azure AD to serve his custom app. He also demo'ed Azure VPN, which I knew nothing about, so overall this was an extremely educational stream and slightly different to what we're used to.
