Hi Juneau - great article! There is also ZIM Kids at zimjs.com/kids.html which has the advantage of working on the visual and colorful canvas. It is real coding in JavaScript and bridges the gap between something like Scratch and Vanilla JavaScript. There is a fun element in that it treats coding like magical spells. ZIM Kids has been used at Coder Dojo - here is a props video zimjs.com/props.html and with the IEC workshops.
