Can I make a suggestion in addition to what you tried? Please review members on this site and LinkedIn for example (assuming it is allowed by the terms and conditions of Dev.To) and contact them.

  • Show them that you understand what they are doing.
  • Explain how you can match what they are doing, this means things like, understanding the technology they use, recognising the business area.
  • Describe what your ambitions are.

Unfortunately, I receive people contacting me all the time saying things like;

  • We can build you the best website.
  • We are experts at building applications.
  • I want some work experience.
  • You were caught... please give me some bitcoin. (No I wasn't).

Unfortunately, to do due diligence on a prospective candidate/supplier takes time - a lot.

So, the problem is, a newbie contacts somebody with a couple of sentences without explaining any interest in what that target person does. Quite frankly, when I get these types of emails, it is rude.

So please try and think a bit more outside the box and I admire you for your bravery in putting yourself out there.

Wow. I just found out that saying "want some work experience" is not recommended.

It can be concluded, we also have to make sure that the position we are going to take is really suitable and on the other hand it also helps what they are doing.

so looking about the company's background basically required too

correct me if i am wrong 🙂

note : can you suggest me about best practices how to describe ambition?

Hi Bimo. There is nothing wrong with what you did.

Think about in this way - though. You are a very busy person and you have two people contact you.

  1. The person has done some research about what you do and found a way to help them, even if they are inexperienced?
  2. The person has done no research, and expects that very busy person/company to do research on the person canvassing and find a way to bring them into your project, with no idea if it will work out.

Who would you want to work with? I would choose person 1 because it is a no-brainer. They already worked out how to add value, there is little investment by me and if they work out then there will be future work.

There isn't a best practice for this, but find companies on DuckDuckGo, see what they do and think about how you may be able to help them, and then contact them. You can still do blanket contact of course.
