I have a LaCie that I have a MacBook backed up to, then I used it with my MBP 16in, it backed up once fine.... but now it’s taking longer to get past one 1gb then the time it is to charge from 50%, what causes it to get slow?

Mac backup taking long to backup. MB to GB, getting slow on MB before even getting to 1 GB
