Thank you for sharing. Sometimes (or most of the time) you get really lazy clients who do not want to do their homework. They expect you to magically come up with a number for their vague problem. This is especially true for the small business clients. This is a red flag signal to tell you not taking the project at all.

Absolutely, it also very challenging to come up with an estimate if the client themself doesn't know exactly what they want
True. I had clients who told me: "I know I like it or not when I see it" when I asked for their preferences regarding design styles etc :)
