I definitely don't practice programming in the ways you define it, but I'd like to think my 8 hours a day on the job are a kind of practice. I am regularly evaluating things I've read and applying them in my daily work in order to improve the software I produce.
I frequently have the opportunity return to older code and get the benefit of being able to determine if I could've done things better or if I would have done things differently (and I always feel like it could be better).
