Amazon Web Services Inc. launches ML powered programming assistant, CodeWhisperer, to help improve developer productivity by generating code based on their comments and existing code. It is available in preview mode right now.
CodeWhisperer is capable of natural language to code generation and code to code generation in programming languages like Java, Python, and JavaScript. Developers can talk to CodeWhisperer in their IDEs, including VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, Pycharm, and Web Storm.
This intelligent assistant is trained on billions of lines of code from open-source projects, internal code repositories, and other sources.
With the passage of time and usage, CodeWhisperer will be a mature and game changer.
