I looked at it as an investment. For one thing, it taught me a lot of things. Just better ways to configure a project with these tech, or how some of these tech even work. But also, it saved me potentially weeks of setup and low-level work for things like authentication and emails.
It just depends on how your value your time. For me, 2 weeks of my time is worth more than $400 to me, plus the ROI from everything I learned. I rarely spend money when I can do something myself, but I don’t regret this one at all.
