I've found that my biggest issue is that I often use !important to assess when trying to figure out why a certain property isn't being applied and then by the time I figure out the cause my mind will have wondered and I will forget to the !important flag. Consequently, causing me to have to go back through later and find which flags aren't necessary. Whereas, I'd probably save time and produce a better result by avoiding the practice all together.
