Hi I'm Teresa Schofield an electronic engineer living in the UK. I started my career as a VLSI design engineer at TI and was at Motorola automotive and in tech xfer at a university. I've been an IEEE member for 30 years and both my sons have Masters degrees in engineering and one is taking a PhD at the top uni in Europe.
I came to the Dev site because I'm naturally curious to see what progress female techies elsewhere are making and spotted an interesting AMA. I still attend many events where I am the only technical female present and find things are actually getting worse.
But still I'm incredibly optimistic and curious (about Cloud, HPC, Comms and devices/systems). This is the most unpredictable time ever I hope soon we will solve problems we have waited a long time to be addressed. So education, design, health, manufacturing, and environment are areas I tend to monitor as I'm fortunate to be able to access London and Cambridge events.
My weekends are busy with family as we've had a very tough few years with health issues. But I'm a Formula 1 fan (several teams ~half an hour from me) and I have a garden I'm trying to transform with lots of trees.
