Why am I doing #100DaysOfJS?

Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹

I've started learning JavaScript from scratch again. I started from the very basics and will try to cover every concept in such detail that it helps one to stay ahead at their job or debug issues faster. ⚑️

I've 4+ years of experience in the industry so I know where to dig deep and where surface information will suffice. 4 years and starting from scratch? Why? πŸ€”

The Why?

Well, I believe that if you just keep your fundamentals strong you can go a long way in tech. Frameworks might come and go but JavaScript will always be there. πŸ—Ώ There are new additions to the language every now and then and it's easy to lose touch when you're working on heavy frameworks that do a lot of things for you. So I do this practice sometimes, where I re-learn some topics just to keep my basics strong. Trust me, it helps a lot at my job too.

Every time I've re-read a topic from a different source or a tutorial I've learnt something new about it. Every time πŸ’―. Even when you think you know all about a topic, you don't. Also, the tech industry is ever changing, so to stay relevant you should always try to upskill yourself. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

This is not the complete truth though. I could have done this activity silently like before but this time I am learning in public.

Here are some reasons for it:

  1. I am trying to build an online presence. 🌎
  2. By writing about it I memorize the information for a longer period. 🧠
  3. I get to help someone else and build new connections. 🀝
  4. As all this is public, I'm more likely to follow through. πŸ‘€

How's it going so far?

I am done with the first 7 days of my challenge. I read a topic online and then tweet about it. Yesterday, I tweeted at exactly 23:59. πŸ₯΅ I didn't want to skip a day.

Honestly, I'm loving it. It keeps me disciplined and I make sure I learn something new every day. πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ

Should you join me?

I think yes! Imagine you're on twitter scrolling through Elon's tweets and memes. You find this very short twitter thread by me that explains a JS topic. You spend 2-3 minutes reading it and you've learnt something new or maybe revised something you knew. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Also, it motivates me to keep posting. πŸ’ͺ

So, here's my twitter: @thesnjvsharma 🐦 Let's connect!

If you'd like to connect with me on other platforms you can find all the info on my website. πŸ”—

Thanks for reading! πŸ™
See you soon in another post when I complete first 10 days of my challenge and post a short summary of my learnings here.
