I am here to keep updated myself in laravel
Welcome @amitmca09 to DEV 👋
I am not familiar with Laravel.
But you can subscribe to #laravel and also share you experiences 😉
Welcome! I'm a laravel dev too!
It would be nice to see how people do rapid development in Laravel and convert it to be more independent from the framework.
Nice, I want to learn it too
I have discovered this community recently. it's amazing, I feel like this is my home where I really belong. xD.
I am a full stack web developer, I have been working with Laravel and PHP for a while but now I am in love with JavaScript (node.js + nuxt.js <3).
feel free to contact me or ask anything :)
Welcome! DEV is a good place to be :) I love JavaScript too!
Nice. Me too
Welcome and great to have you on board ;) I'm also new.
Awesome!
I stand that
Hello 👋
Hello
Nice
@hamzanouali Laravel and Nuxt dev here too. Let's connect / chat!
Welcome to DEV! I like Javascript too.
My name's Matthew, and I'm a second-year business student currently living in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
I've always considered myself to be techie; some of my fondest memories are of taking apart late-90's desktops, learning how to write my first JS script, and printing my first custom design on my 3D printer.
I'm a hobby web developer/designer, but I've been involved in robotics and general DevOps shenanigans, and many things in-between.
I own/operate a tiny robotics business, Bot-In-a-Box Educational Robotics, which I started with a friend of mine a couple of years ago, and I've got some rather ambitious plans for the next few months...
Anyway, I stumbled upon Dev.to a few weeks ago, while researching how to use Nuxt.js. Since then, it's far and above become my favourite blog/news site, and I just generally really like it.
Welcome Matthew!
Thank you! Glad to be here! :]
Welcome mattheW! :)
@mtpiercey I'm a Laravel and Nuxt dev myself. Let's connect!
Very cool! Welcome, Matthew!
Hello :-)
Hi, I'm a QA Engineer that is learning all things Java with the occasional Python (Which I've dabbled with in the past). I'm currently getting interested in Information Security especially around the pen test, application security. I'm not limiting myself so any information is always good for me to discuss. So if any of you want to connect and discuss, then let me know.
I'm also getting into all things AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
Since you're a QA engineer, I'll ask: what's one thing you wish app developers would do to make your life easier? Thanks!
Not putting the bugs in the software in the first place :)
Seriously, I'm not really too sure. The main thing I value is communication, so as long as developers and myself communicate effectively, then it's all good. Good documentation, good logging, and good collaboration, then I'm generally happy. Let me think more about that.
haha, yeah, no bugs in the first place would be great 😂
Thanks for the thoughts :)
Welcome Steve, we have a lot in common there in the history and current tech interests.
Would love to see your writeups in the field!
Sure, I shall try my best
Hello everyone
Just here to learn about web dev and building hybrid apps
Welcome! What kind of hybrid apps do you want to / are you already building?
Android / ios, I would like to build a social networking app, is it possible to do so with ionic and angular or React Native with react?
It's definitely possible, yes. My experience with with React Native, so I know that that will work, and my understanding is that ionic would do it as well. Good luck!
Nice and welcome. Wish you all the best on your journey!
Thank you 😀
Hello
I have experience with ionic, React and Xamarin.
hello
Nice job!
That's a lot to know at 15 - good work! Welcome to DEV :) What's one thing you're super excited to be learning right now?
Sounds interesting!
Hi, name's Simone, I study everything that I like and I wish to study. Right now I'm exploring webdev because I think it's the future of the customer experience, and pretty much every important application cough cough web apps I'm looking at you cough cough
Benvenuto, Simone!
Grazie Burdette!!
Prego!
Welcome! Yep, webdev is everywhere right now :)
Yes, I know, that's why I'm putting myself into it so much!
"Hello world!"
I'm Tamar. I just did see this site online then did a tour via it and noticed it was cool cus it has the solution to one of my problems (problem solving) and believe I'll find solution here.
Hello Tamar!
Do you program? Tell us more.
Welcome Tamar
Have fun and post your comments and articles. This is a great community and I'm sure you'll find something interesting to read.
Welcome Tamar!
Welcome!
Hello guys! I'm Mubin.
I'm very much excited about joining the community.
I'm here to learn new things and become a dev magician.😎Because Developers are one kind of magician.😁
My motto is "Never stop Learning"
Recently I started learning python and also working on a project name face recognition attendance system.
I want to learn about software development.
I finally found a Dev Magician Community😍😍
Thank you.
Welcome! I agree, code is magic :)
Hola, I'm Jenell!
Quite excited to finally join the community instead of just perusing.
Here for the...
...awesome JavaScript posts from incredible devs, marvel at everyone's CSS skills, and hopefully write some posts myself!
Fun Fact
I'm currently on a plane to go spend the long weekend roller skating with the Moxi skate team so I'm pretty gosh darned stoked right now 🤩
Welcome Jenell!
Roller skating... tell us more.
I'm here to hear where people are struggling when building serverless apps on AWS and hopefully help them out a bit with local development, deployment, and management strategies. I'm amazed and impressed by how quickly this community is growing and thriving.
Welcome Abner! What should the community know about serverless apps on AWS? Maybe: what's the main issue that you see when you help people out with that?
(Serverless is an exciting new topic - and I'm currently looking to learn more about it :) )
Great to see people joining with the purpose of helping others. Welcome.
I am here to join the community I believe will support my journey of becoming a world class professional software developer. I am interested in Mobile Apps and Web Development. I want to be a full stack developer in both areas and master my skills and languages that are used in building such.
This is a bit late, but nice to meet you! What are you finding the most difficult to learn right now?
So far everything is going well. I am trying my best to understand Java for Android development. I will surely share any difficulties if faced with the learning process. Thank you very much. This response means a lot to me.
Hi gang!
Looong time lurker. This platform is a great resource so decided to finally join. DEV 🤘!!! Working with Angular and C# mostly. Interested in polymer's litElement. Long term Dream learn C and hack my own blasted network drivers.
Welcome Cristian! Network drivers is ambitious :) Good luck!
I am here because software development is a community and a lifestyle. I look forward to contribute to the community as well as gain from it. I have been in software marketing and sales for the past 5 years. I now feel that i should curve my future through being a software developer myself.
My interest is in IoT and Web.
Good to have you! This is a great place to learn about software :)
Thank You..
Hi, I am regular JavaScript programmer (front-end and back-end) from Poland. I'm looking for some good articles to sharpen my skills in JS and also in Python. Also It's my hobby so I do like programming things like Raspberry Pi or configure Nginx environments.
Hi everyone! I'm kinda new here. I've challenged myself to write some posts recently. I'm a unity developer and I'll post technical stuff on http methods on unity and creating a simple node and express app to provide data. Any unity developer here?
Wish me luck :)
Welcome aboard Cem. I hope you'll find this platform and its community friendly and fun to interact with.
Your posts are more than welcome; take your time and write as much or as little as you want. If you don't feel like writing, I'm sure you'll find numerous interesting articles to binge on.
Welcome,
vimmer9
That was such a warm welcoming, thank you! I've started already and working on markdown for my first blog here.
I am here because I really like this website layout, I also loves web development, specially front-end technologies. I'm not the best in english and I think here I'll be able to learn more about this wonderful language. Okay, I want to learn the computer languages too, like JavaScript and the most famous markup language in the world...
Bienvenido Ramires!
I’m sure you’ll love the community, it’s the best place to learn and improve. I’m also learning front-end, React right now, and I can say this community has helped me incredibly to grow and stay confident. Explore the front-end content and feel free to ask questions and leave comments, there’s people from every corner of the earth and everyone is really nice. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for the complement 😄
Hi, everyone! I'm Niken from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I am an end-year student and a front-end developer. I love JS, and currently working on React and Laravel projects. Hope we can share knowledge each other :)
Welcome Niken! I love JS too (funny how some people don't like it, huh? :) )... are you working on any neat projects at the moment?
Yeay, glad to meet people with same interest. Yes, I am, kind of fintech project, how about you? Are you working on project using JS too?
Fintech is neat :) I've done some work there in the past
Yep! I use JS all the time - I do some consulting, and right now I'm working on video courses and writing about it to help other people. It's all fun stuff! (most of the time ;) )
I am interested in learning web or applications development however I still don't know where to start or even the standards to be able to commit to the next level. Any ideas where I might start and how to be able to be motivated? (shared experiences would be appreciated too :) ) #webdev #android
I didn't know how to start either... I had a great experience working through CS50x. It's a good introduction to the craft in general and uses a variety of languages, so you can then choose what interests you most after trying it out first.
It is definitely a difficult class, be prepared to spend a lot of time on the problems and get stuck - but that means you're learning!
It can certainly be overwhelming! My advice is:
Hang out around other technical people online. Good news: you're already doing it! DEV is a great place to hang out and find like-minded people.
Read just enough of the docs or a tutorial in order to get the basic picture (that often just means getting setup, and running "Hello World"... which can sometimes take a long time to get going!
Find a personal project that you think you'll really like to do. Make it SUPER simple to start... and then do that! You'll have to google a lot to figure out how to get it to work, but you'll get there eventually! (that's why you have to pick a project that you really want to do :) )
repeat! Learning never ends, but it does get easier over time.
Good luck!
Welcome!
Since we have new folks here from all sorts of backgrounds, I welcome everyone to drop some comments into @peter 's post about your routine.
Everybody's got a routine, what's yours?
What is your daily routine?

So after 17 months of deciding I wanted to code full-time and writing my first official line of code, I am really glad to say I got my first full-time role as a front-end Developer. This is very huge for me considering the fact that I had a lot of setbacks during learning and at times it felt like the world was against my decision, but i'm here now and I really want to help people who have difficulties in in anyway get a better understanding of things. I would be explaining, contributing and doing all I can to help aspiring career changers like me, or anyone in fact learn, understand and grow. Cheers to a new beginning
Congrats! Learning to code and getting a full time role is no easy task 🎉
Oh, and welcome to DEV! :)
Hello, I am new here. I'm currently enrolled in a web dev course with Lambda Schools.
How are you liking the course so far?
Haven't even started yet. just getting ready for my start date next month. I have been more of a hobbyist web developer for some years now, so I am sure I'm going really enjoy the course.
The move from hobbyist to professional can be really awesome. All those things you used to hack together with bits and pieces of knowledge, you'll have all sorts of new explicit knowledge to pull from. Good luck!
Yes, I am very excited! Thank you.
Congrats! I hope the course goes well!
Thank you!
Hi Scott! Best of luck with Lambda, I hope you continue to share your journey with us. I plan on enrolling in Lambda too (once I'm done with college).
Thank you. I definitely will. GL to you as well with college!
Hello there! I'm a UX/UI specialist working in Smart City development for a year now. I'm here to learn more about gamedev and programming tips to keep improving. My goal is to master the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse [HTML, CSS, JS and Control version] and so I will!
May the force be with y'all!
4 horsemen... LOL
Welcome 👋
Hiya, I'm a C# developer, currently transforming a Classic ASP app into Core2.2 MVC app with an Agile workflow. Working with some very old tech, very outdated work practices and the entire knowledgebase of the company in one person's head who's been there over 20 years!
Mostly an interesting challenge 😊
Looking forward to keeping up to date here & keeping in contact with peers. Nice to meet you all!
Welcome! I have been a C# dev my entire career, there are not as many of us here. I'd encourage you to share your experiences with such an extreme migration! I started my career hacking VB 6.0 and ASP Classic applications so they would run for one more week...don't miss those days!
I feel you girl, same with cia I'm working, do everything you can to change things, but if you don't have the power run like forest and don't look back :v
Welcome and the best of luck in your job, but most importantly have fun.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that works out for you :-) And welcome to the dev universe!
Hi! I'm Genrikh and I'm a frontend developer. I like web-development, mostly programming and I think that javascript is cool, but typescript little bit more cool. The reason why I decided to join is that I have recently understood that I want to be active member, not in read-only mode and I want to try to benefit other community members via articles or comments or another way and I hope I could 🙂
Welcome! Looking forward to more js and ts articles :)
Thanks, I have just added the first :)
Hi there.. just discovered this from weboasis. I'm a digital designer interested in health stuff
Hi *******! 🤣 Welcome to DEV :)
lol thnx :)
Why is your name starred out, when it links to a name that's not?
Is it because it has "merde" in it?
nah.. it's just asteriscs **** :)
Interested in a few of the articles here. I hope to grow and contribute to other's growth while I'm here.
Welcome Ivor! This is a great place to both grow and contribute to others :)
Thank you. I've been a lurker for years. Now I may be able to help with something.
Hi, I'm an IT Operations person with a heavy hobby in security that is in transition to become a DevOps person...so in short; a person.
Currently a specialist in law firms, but looking to broaden my horizons.
Hi Richard - welcome! As a non-IT Ops and non-security person, what's something I should know that maybe isn't obvious at first? Always looking to learn :) Thanks!
Hi Chris,
Ops is all about keeping people working and unfortunately shortcuts will be taken in the field if they are available. Take a simple login for instance, if the password field can be left blank, it most certainly will in a high number of cases. Pen testing is all about just trying to get around the system so if developers could have their code pen tested during development it would prevent some vulnerabilities and keep the rookie hackers at bay. The most obvious thing for a quick pen test: give your beta to a power user and track their behavior...it may even spawn some ideas of your own on how to adjust the UI/UX.
Thanks! Good things to think about there...
Hello everyone! I am a fresh developer mainly working with C# and Swift. I am interested in all sorts of programming and game development related stuff. Lets get in touch!
Welcome! What types of games are you hoping to make?
Im mainly interested in Desktop games and have used Unity for some time which I really liked. As for genre I would like to try on creating a 3D puzzle or adventure game.
Cool! I've always wanted to try my hand at game making, but got into web programming first :) Good luck!
Thanks, Chris. Best of luck to you as well! :)
Hi My name is Cosmas, I've been here since January but just realized this welcome thread. I'm a full stack dev but as of this moment and probably the rest of the year I'm working as a Front-end developer with ReactJS and Sassy CSS. I love dev because it's built by developers for developers and there's no paywall meters on content.
A delayed welcome then! :) I agree - dev is great because it's by developers, for developers.
Recently retired software engineer from fortune 500 company. I worked in enterprise applications meaning all internal applications tools and processes for over 10000 employees. Our team focused on full stack web development, angular >6, react, nodejs, sql etc.
Welcome Rick!
Hello,
I have been reading articles from few weeks and thought it would be much better to just register so i can be a part of the community, ask questions, solve others queries and take part in discussion.
Thanks its a wonderful community, I think, I am gonna get a lot out of it. Just Awesome!
Welcome!
A fan of BxDaily from yamalight. So decided to join the community here on dev.to _^
Presently a software engineer. Moved to the US 🇺🇸 from Singapore 🇸🇬. I used to be the fittest software engineer. Team captain for Singapore's Everest Team 2010-2015. Suffered a stroke in 2014 due to lack of oxygen. But made it to the summit of Cho Oyu, China. 6th highest mountain in the world. Made it back alive. But had to skip Everest due to the stroke.
Passionate about the mountains, even more passionate about #Javascript and everything #webtech.
Whoa! That's quite the story - glad you're ok, and doing well. Welcome!
Yeap :) Kept telling myself I am collecting bedtime stories for my kids.
And yes I am doing great! But no more high altitude climbing
tnp.sg/news/others/stroke-ends-his...
I love bringing the physical space and physical things and software together using IoT, sensors, smart cameras etc. (I mainly use raspberry pis, node-red or gravio.com for that.)
I'm based in London, UK.
Woohoo, another IoT buddy! I'm all about ARM Cortex M-series.
Please feel free to share tips about hardware projects, etc. Lots of folks here are curious about that world.
Welcome :-)
I've heard so many great things about the dev community that I decided to join and am super happy to be here.
My background is marketing, but I'm teaching myself how to code, primarily focusing on Javascript, HTML & CSS, dabbling with Node.JS/Express/MongoDB etc.
I went through the FreeCodeCamp curriculum and got accepted for the Chingu Voyage #11. YAY.
Feel free to ask anything or get in touch.
Welcome! This is a great place to learn all of that stuff :)
I hadn't seen the Chingu Voyage before: what's that? (sounds exciting though!)
Thank you, Chris.
I've learned about Chingu Voyage listening to the FreeCodeCamp podcast. They have a pretty cool overview here: chingu.io
It's my first experience doing something in a group.
Neat! Thanks for the info
I used to be comfortable coding in Html, css and sql a couple of years back then I lost interest for no reason. I want to rediscover that interest. Besides, what am I doing in the world if I am not coding a bit?. Interested in android mobile development, Kotlin and other dependent technologies.
Hi! My name's Sapna and I'm a third-year IT undergraduate, keenly interested in Web development. I have a basic knowledge of C, C++, python, js, HTML/CSS. I'm also familiar with tools like Django, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
I have plans to learn AI/ML and ethical hacking in the near future, as those fields really fascinate me. Currently, I'm focussed on web development (though only a beginner) and would love to have any constructive suggestions for the same.
Here to explore blockchain and its concepts
Love it! Do you have a particular area of blockchain you are interested in the most? Or a particular application of it?
Hi chris ,
I am currently exploring but came across some very good open source projects like Harmony One , IPFS and storj , read their white papers and the solutions they are providing to the current blockchain issues like low TPS and sharding .
Neat :) I've read a few of the white papers too, and I've been surprised at how accessible some of them are (I'm not a crypto expert by any means). Definitely interesting!
exactly i have read kadcast the protocol which harmony one is developing , and IPFS white paper sounds really impressive to me , any thing you can suggest to read
Well the Bitcoin white paper is a classic if you haven't looked at that one yet. I also enjoyed some of the ethereum white paper, though that one was a bit more complex: github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Whit...
ohh yes i want to read ethereum one , i have done one lesson on linkedin for DApp got to know some basics of solidity and ethererum it was fun
Hey There! I'm big on high tier communities and DEV seems filled with great developers who are into the community and building other devs up.
I've dabbled with Go & Python, but am currently a JS focused dev working as a Sr UI Engineer. Mainly my experience on the job consists of React/CSS in JS/Jest & some deployment stuff (typically starting projects through CRA and/or Gatsby). Lately, I've been tinkering into Apollo/GQL/AWS and React Native via Expo.
I'm eager to learn and love to share. Cheers!
Seems like you'll fit right in
Hello everyone!
I am a frontend developer from Poland - Katowice. I'm here to improve my JavaScript, React and webdev in total, skills.
Pleasure to be with you guys.
Welcome to dev.to!
Welcome :) I've never been to Poland - what's your favorite thing about Katowice?
There is so many great things here. You have to check it by yourself! You are very welcome here :)
Sounds good, thanks! :)
Heyo my name's Jesse and I finally made an account after lurking for so long. I do a little bit of everything and have been programming on and off since middle school. I use Python for most of my personal projects. Currently experimenting with a lot of different technologies as I try my best to figure out what I wanna do with myself.
Hi, I am Waqar from Pakistan and Web Developer in Angular and Ionic.

Interesting!
Hey DEV, I'm Alex, and new here. I want to be more involved in the dev community. I'm from Argentina, and I really love Front-End!
Welcome to DEV, Alex!
Greetings Alex! What's your current favorite tech stack, or front-end setup of choice?
Hey Chris! I worked for my degree thesis with Angular (2+) and Node.js and I loved it, but currently I'm working at my job with React + Redux and it's been great.
Nice! What is the biggest difference that you've found between Angular and React? I'm always curious what people who move from one to the other have to say about that :)
I think I miss the *ngIf, *ngFor and so on, but I've found that doing it in a "JS way" improved my JS skills. Also, I've found JSX a little weird at first, but now I got used to it. And the two-way data binding in Angular vs one-way in React
Thanks - yeah, I think JSX is a hangup for a lot of people, until you really get into it :)
Yeah, that's right! :D
Hello! I have discovered this site thanks to the new "dev" button in Stack Overflow. Some facts about me:
I'm from the absolutely best place to live in the world: Mallorca, Spain.
I've been working as a developer since 2002, mostly in the C#/.NET realm but now I'm working with Ruby+Rails.
My first computer was a MSX. I got it in 1985 when I was 11, and I have been an MSX user (and later, also developer) uninterruptedly since then. I have developed some cool things such as a TCP/IP stack written in Z80 assembler.
In 2016 I was hired at Stack Overflow and it was truly the heaven on Earth. Unfortunately, 19 months later a wild layoff appeared. 😔
I met my wife on Internet in 1997, so I consider myself kind of a pioneer of e-dating 😁
And that's me. Now the party can begin!
Hello! I'm here to learn redux, particularly and be better in js.
I'm having a really hard time with redux. I know what a store, actions and reducers are and have a general idea of how everything works but I still don't get the big picture and am unable to build up a simple app from scratch without looking at tutorials or references.
But, hey, I won't stop trying! Hello everyone :D
Hello and welcome, there are many interesting articles here about redux so i hope you find what you are looking for.
Mad probs to you btw and welcome!
Hello I'm Yodi a new Dev here. I came here and decided to join with DEv community just because I was trying to learn about Vue framework because I have something to create but I don't have enough exxperience with any front end frameworks, so I decided to read some of articles and chose to learn vue and take vue as my first focus in learning front end framework. THank you for the opportunity to be able to join with the Devs team here. Warm regards to everyone. :)
Welcome Yodi!
Hi!!
I am Sunday, currently building my career in software development with a focus on backend. I currently write python and I plan to be sound in the major backend languages. I am also into embedded systems.
I am open to any opportunity to advance my skills.
Welcome Sunday!
Howdy! I am Brian, a systems software engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. I have a few years of experience in various areas, but most recently I’ve been using Python and PL/SQL to work with Oracle DBs. I’m a polyglot programmer who enjoys playing around with the shiny things that grab my interest, like Rust, Go, the internals of Git....
My employer is currently migrating a monolithic donor-management system with multiple decades of development history and data to Salesforce, so I get to spin up on a completely new-to-me technology stack. Transitioning from Oracle SQL and PL/SQL to Salesforce SOQL and Apex is challenging, but this also opens up areas already of interest to me that I will be able to explore more fully.
Well, that’s me. I’m glad to be here publicly after lurking for so long.
Welcome! We're glad you finally have decided to join our ranks! You'll find a lot of common ground with your polygot background. F#, C++ and Ruby have my interest right now. SalesForce has always been something I have tried to avoid because development seemed ugly, but I admire your attitude approaching it. You'll have to let us know how it goes!
Hi, everyone! I'm a junior frontend developer and I'm here to learn new things about modern frontend development especially about React and its environment. I will be happy to communicate and be part of the community.
Welcome Pavel! Good to have you - this is a great place to learn about all things development :)
Hi Everyone! My name is Jaira! I help find the best female-friendly, full-time, remote jobs in tech via remotewoman.com! Excited to join DEV! :)
Awesome! Welcome to DEV. What's the hardest part about finding the jobs for your site? Also generally, what are you looking for when you post a job/company?
Hi! I am a junior web dev and use JavaScript. Excited to be here!
Hello! I've been coding for roughly 30 years: BASIC, Pascal, C, C++, ASM, Perl, Python, Java, JavaScript, and more libraries I can enumerate. My nerd-passion are backends, making metal run faster and more efficient, random side projects to keep me engaged with the frontend things, and mentoring the next generation. I'm also an avid hiker and traveler.
Welcome Quin! Ruby is great, and Rails makes it super easy to get into web apps. Good luck!
I am here to keep updated on rails and to post some ruby articles :). Currently full-time microverse student.
Welcome!
Awesome! Great to have more Rails devs in the house.
Hi, I'm a frontend dev located in south-west Germany. In my spare time I'm a co-organizer of a CoderDojo initiative here.
During work I'm mainly around #react code using #styled-components and in general #CSS.
Right now I'm looking into #gatsby and open-source distributed #fediverse services like #mastodon.
Hiya. I've worked as a Network Engineer for 10+ years and am looking to transition into a development role. I took a 14-week full-stack bootcamp (HTML/CSS/Java/JavaScript/SQL/React) and really enjoyed it; however, I feel like I've barely touched the tip of the iceberg. Still working in infrastructure- actively seeking my first dev job.
As a passion project, I'm currently muddling through Unity and trying to make a game.
Btw, I use Arch. (ok just kidding, I'm a Mint guy, but run a Windows desktop and a Mac laptop with a Linux VM on both).
I really dig the format of this site. I discovered it by Googling a comparison of Java and C# (dev.to/nishthasinghuk/a-comparison...).
I'm excited to be here!
Welcome to DEV! Yeah, that's a bunch of stuff to learn in only 14 weeks :) Good luck learning!
Hi,
I am Amandeep Singh. I am a DevOps Engineer presently working in State Street and have spent 4 years in ThoughtWorks before. I recently came to know about this community. I liked it and created an account today.
Welcome to DEV! As a non-DevOps person, what's one thing I should know about DevOps? What's the hardest part? Thanks!
I
m Android App Developer at IlsaInteractive, Lahore Pakistan. I
m working on on Fayvo Social Media App in Office. Yesterday i just learn stuff from Dev.to that inspired myself to keep lean more because of that i found some interesting articles here thats why i
m here.I want to update myself in technology related to Mobile and Gaming.
Got introduced to this platform by @fabiangosebrink who taught me a lot about Angular. My main focus is to acquire knowledge and from time to time I microblog and share the developer‘s life in Zurich on Instagram :)
Welcome Tijana!
Hi Chris and thank you :)
Hi everyone! I'm Bet-Zua, I'm a self-taught programmer and I'm going back to school in the Spring for a certificate in computer science. I want to become a software developer and I'm here to learn more about the technologies I'm interested in (JS, React and Ruby+Rails).
Sounds like you’re well on your way
Hey. I'm Hoss. Based in Melbourne Australia. Trained as architect now turned software developer. Been working on developing apps and plugins for architecture industry software such as Revit by Autodesk. Nice to be joining this community ❤️
Hello,
I'm Marcelo G. Cajueiro. My background is #ruby and I'm currently #CTO at Portabilis a Startup from Brazil working with Social Impact.
I'm also known as Caju (or Cashew in English).
I expect to get updated to allow me to be a better leader.
I've been a member of this community ON/OFF for last few years but never actually took any action. Mostly have been reading through the great content shared by everyone here and thought, it's long past time to fully get in and do something. As they say: better late than never
So hey to all... 👋🤓
Hello...I'm a web development newbie. I'm familiar with HTML & CSS, I'm currently learning JavaScript, after which I would like to add PHP. I need resources to help me ..and Hey! I'm open to being mentored, and I really hope to get a mentor!
Any particular reason for choosing PHP (just asking, not looking to start a flame war)
I want to learn it
just for server-side
Scripting. For a backend skill.
Hi! I'm a web developer working especially with Angular and with knowledge of Node.js in the back-end. I also love GraphQL and I'm excitied to learn much more things about developing. I also hope to contribute some of my knowledge on this great community
Welcome Cristian!
Hello, I'm a frontend Web developer currently learning Javascript. I'd like to add React, VUE, Node and WebGL/THREE.JS to my skills.
Welcome!
I've been reading articles on dev for a long time, and I have never thought of registering. but I think it's time to join the great community of developers across the world.
I'm a web developer, I work mainly with Python, Flask NodeJS and for the frontend reactJS, VueJS.
currently, I'm trying to dig my way into Machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Hi, I've been programming computers since the mid-80s and I feel old. :) Anyway, about me, I'm behind the script.aculo.us JavaScript library that sort of started the move away from Flash in web development and I'm a former Ruby on Rails core team member. Checking out dev.to to see what it's all about!
Cheers, Thomas
Hello everyone!
My name is Luisa, and I'm a soon-to-be recent CS graduate. Currently living in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada but looking forward to getting into industry, moving to Toronto, and continuing on learning... although it's all also a bit terrifying.
I've worked the most with back-end projects, but I'm really eager to learn some front-end as well. My eyes are on React right now. Speaking of which: any resources to get started on that are more than welcome.
Hello Dev Community!! I just joined today! I have been reading lots of articles on this website. Lots of quality stuff!! What finally made me take the plunge was the stack overflow button. How cool is that?
I always wanted to do side projects but procrastination prevailed until I now. Can you guys help me start my journey into open source software?
I hope I can learn a lot from you guys and teach you some things too if I can :p
Thank you for having me and may your compiles times be fast and your bugs far,and few!
Hey hey Francisco! Thanks for joining.
Hey everyone... I work on the NuGet team (package manager for .NET). I am here to learn about package managers for other languages and ecosystems. I am also happy to hear any feedback about NuGet as well :)
Best,
Karan

I'm here as a new computer science graduate looking to advance my knowledge and skills as a developer. I have been hardcore into react and front in general. I've been apart of this community but just recently began to utilize this platform as a tool. Thank you in advance to all those who takes time to reply.
Hi everyone, just discovered this community and I'm eager to explore it! I'm a software engineer/researcher with special interest in programming languages (including domain-specific ones) and data extraction & analysis, among others
Hey! Kept seeing the site on Twitter, so thought I would sign up. Seems like some amazing people and pieces here, and that's the kind of thing I want to contribute to and surround myself with!
Also the sloth gif is adorable
Hi, I'm a Software Engineer located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Discovered this awesome community while using daily 2.0 chrome extension. I am a full stack developer working with .Net core, angular, react. Hope to help this community and get awesome ideas
Welcome to DEV!
Hio all! Been a full-stack web dev (PHP) for two years, now a Java dev for two years. Interested in moving into security engineering in the next year - if anybody has any guidance for a secnoob, I'll certainly appreciate it!
I'm here to keep updated my self updated on latest trends on javascript frame works and web development.
Great to have you!
Hey community, been a full stack dev for 20 yrs, self taught, wide range over the years, mostly PHP/JS/HTML/CSS for our current work. We grew our company on Joomla, design and SEO work, WHMCS dev, and a lot of Wordpress now. We've got a lot of legacy code that we support and regularly update that we're pressed to mature or replace.
Been looking to expand and move myself out of the direct production line. I've been following people on Twitter and the progression of TPD for a bit. Exited for the chance to broaden my horizons in this great community!
I just want to read about new amazing stuff and I am tired of Mudium's "You have reached the end of your free member..."
Absolutely! That's really annoying, and what ultimately drove me here too :)
Hi All I'm Here to learn Python; VueJS; React and more
Good choices
Welcome! Good to have you :)
Hi! I'm Yarin and I'm in love with Frontend technologies which makes me a cool and proud nerd :)
Happy to join !
Hi, everyone! I have a background in theoretical physics, but now I'm switching careers to tech. I'm particularly interested in stuff like Haskell, Clojure and Rust, but I'm keeping an open mind and learning as much as I can, about everything. I also have some knowledge of C and JavaScript. I'm here to get exposed to new things and connect with people. Finding open source projects I could contribute to would be awesome too.
Hello! I do Rails and I've been following the community on twitter for a long time, and I've finally joined with the intention on get back to writing about tech, learn some new stuff and if possible contribute to some OSS projects :)
Maybe you'll decide to contribute to DEV itself?

That was precisely on my mind! Being a Rails codebase I guess I could be able to lend a hand and learn a thing or two about modern JS managing in Rails while at it :D
I just found a couple great articles from dev.to and decided to dive in. I hope I'll find more information about Powershell, Azure Functions and new technologies that can help me to be even more "lazy" at the office.
Hello all!
I’d like to formely introduce myself just for the sack of it.
My name is Shanyu Juneja, I am 15 year old and I code and own stuff.
Originally, I started my little adventure in Late 2016. I was just getting started with basic HTML (which is not a coding language, let’s be fair) and just barely scrapping the surface on some other stuff. I then got tired of it and since my peak interest at the time (and still is!) was Minecraft, I decided to devote time into learning Java. Java is the main coding infrastructure for Minecraft and Minecraft addons, so I just had to learn it.
6 months go by and progress is just slow. I lost all inspiration and love for what I was doing due to my endless issues. I was still 13 at the time and just gave up.
Time goes by, I attempt to get into Management. I start offering simple websites and join a firm with a buddy of mine. Soon enough, following my active participation, I get moved into a management position (voluntary work). This little firm was a sort of middle-men for Minecraft related work. We found freelancers and would give them commissions we seeked for in exchange for around 15-20% of the commission price.
Things went by and I was soon enough promoted into a head position, leading a team which had passed the 30 members threshold (Not entirely sure, forgot a lot of the numbers). I was happy but time was consumed and my PayPal (Parent one with authorization of use for receiving and transfering funds. Nothing illegal here :P) wasn’t nearly getting more than $50. At the time, $100 was a milestone for me.
Things continued until Late 2017 when I decided to branch out my own brand to be able to fund some dream of mine....
December 2017, I quit my position which I treasured. I only had myself and this domain. I did my best, but failures only followed the months that followed. Was it a curse? I felt defeated, hammered down, as if the world had torn my dreams to pieces. I truly wanted to be part of something: create a wonder that I could proudly say ‘I made and owned this’. By April 2018, I had turned 14. Big age!
However, things started to change. I started working a lot. Trying things, getting in touch with people and such. I did not make a penny until Summer 2018 when I did some motion-designing as a side job, as well as some voxel 3D design. I’m passionate about computers. I know a lot of everything but only scratched the surface until I found something I bonded with.
Winter 2018, school was back, and it was ready to taunt me with overloading work. I had no choice and worked really hard to keep up A’s and B’s at bare minimum. The outcome was pretty good and I kept my high level in scientific topics. This lasted until Sprint 2019 when the work-load had slightly eased up. I had a bit of time to do any sort of activity every week for a couple hours. Out of all the things I had previously tried, I decided to give coding another go.
My turning point was in May. I had bonded with this language and a sort of click happened overnight. I woke up one day feeling like I could make anything, and the moment my hands touched the keyboard words in the language I feared started appearing. Was all these years of failure leading to this?
I’m in no position to call myself a pro, or even advanced, but I can confidently affirm I passed the known and feared dead end most people drive in. I then started selling one bit of software, which with it’s funds I bought another and another. This kept going till now. I now can rely on a minimum per months of 1/7th of minimal wage/month, which is still bad but means the world to me as I’ve finally made enough to call it profitable for a teenager. I’ve finally caught attention of people in my environment whom didn’t even notice my presence in the early days. I nowadays focus a lot on C# and C++, a bit of PHP and of course Java. I usually sell around 20-50 copies of my software per months, and roughly make enough to live in a lower price of living country. Not a bad start!
I’ve still got massive plans for the future. I one day hope to be leading a cyber-security firm for the Gaming industry (specifically preventing exploiting in games).
I enormously appreciate every single individual who has supported me through this still very young journey.
Thank you for reading,
Tl:dr: Was a kid, tried to code, gave up. Joined a group, was happy, made no money, left the group, was not happy and almost super sad. Kept it up, found my niche, made a lot of money, invested that money, now has one little business I can proudly call my own. Life is good, but not all the time.
Amazing story
Hello everyone, I love learning and keeping myself informed and this is the right place for it!
DEV is definitely a great place for keeping informed - no community quite like it I think!
It indeed is!
I have been reading lots of articles, and I finally decided to register! :D
Hi All!
I'm still in the relative beginning stages of learning to code. It was time for a new challenge. My head is sore from banging it on the wall so far in this process. Figured a little community backup and fresh resources would be beneficial.
I'm currently working on javascript.
Hello! M*dium paywalls got me here. Also, found the community to be quite vibrant and have a lot of different articles to read and fun threads with a lot of Engineering pun.
hey, i am hassan, also known as loner291999, names pretty explicit about myself, people consider me good natured, i like games, british shows, mangakas, anime, good movies, scifi stuff etc. i want to work myself to become a good and better programmer enough to be a bit proud of and enough to feel happy about myself, i know java, somewhat of android dev, basic web dev, sql psql mongodb stuff and look forward to learn flutter, proper js, cpp and unity, and i hope life's a bit fun.
Welcome to DEV Hassan!

I love Programming! My biggest dream is every single kid learn to code in the school. I am also in love with BRAZIL, my motherland!
Welcome to DEV! It's a great place to hang out if you love programming :)
I've never been to Brazil - what's one thing I should definitely see if I go?
All 27 states. lol. Brazil has a lot of beauty. To begin with I would point to the state of Amazonas, the "meeting of waters" is the most beautiful natural phenomenon I have ever seen.
haha, fair enough :) I'll check it out online... maybe I'll have to plan a trip sometime! (And yeah - that does look really neat)
Hello, it's come :) I am here to meet new developers who loves coding like me. I'm a student and by the way working as a fullstack developer at Rakun R&D and SharpSoft. I love coding from micro-controllers like series of ESP, Arduino to developing API Gateways, Microservices. I am in everywhere where is coding.
Best regards from heart of Anatolia 🇹🇷.
I am hoping to be a Full Stack Web Developer and Also Want to build Applications In kotlin.
How Should I Approach???
Most Important How Are You All.
Welcome! I'm not a kotlin dev, but my advice for learning something brand new is to get the basics by doing some tutorials first, but then - as soon as possible - find a small, personal project that you can do that you're realllllly excited about! that's the best way to really get into the language fast :) Good luck!
Thanks For Your Opinion Chris ❤
I am here, to keep me update about the technology & market trend!
Welcome! What's your current favorite technology?
.NET, currently working on asp.net web api's
Hi there!
I'm Priyank Parashar. I mostly work on JS and related web technologies.
I develop and maintain some open source projects (including some WebExtensions).
github.com/webextensions/live-css-... is the major one among them :-)
I've abandoned and eventually deleted my tech blog about 10 years ago due not to having time to write and maintain it. PHP, Ruby, Javascript were the hot topics back then.
Now I'm back with some time to write and this time around it will be around my current focus - Fullstack Javascript w/ particular focus Mobile and cutting edge Web APIs.
dev.to seems like the right place to kick off my comeback ;)
I'm here to learn about the best practices in software engineering.
Welcome Hossam! DEV is a great place to do that :) There are so many different people on this site with different backgrounds and experiences - that you can find just about anything you're looking for!

Just found out about Dev.to. Awesome initiative!
My background:
Built my first "system" as a 12 year old. Basically a logistics system for our local Blockbuster (RIP). Been involved in projects since then. Started freelancing around 2008 and decided to start my own agency with a friend in 2012. 7 years running now. Currently a team of 10 colleagues based in Stockho, Sweden doing awesome stuff with Python/Django and Javascript/React/Next.js.
Currently working on:
Taking a Windows based software and making it work in the "cloud" by creating Azure instances on demand.
Integrating a breathalyzer with an iOS app using React Native bridge and connecting this app to external checkin API for the Aviation Industry
Building a B2B second hand car platform in the MENA-region.
Building a "Netflix" for the schools in Sweden
Handling pressreleases for publicly traded companies in Sweden
Probably a couple of other projects as well :)
Looking forward to talking to you guys!
Hi. I was just making some research and I don't even remember how I ended up here, but I'm surprised how great this community looks so far!
Well, I've been stepping into coding in the last few years after I started automating windows server tasks with Powershell, from there I have learned oriented object programming logic which I discovered to be a passion!
I am here to know more about JS
Welcome Dhanraj! What type of JS do you do? (backend, frontend, all of it)? Good to have you on DEV :)

Wish a good day to all of you.
Hello all! 👋
I’m a “DevOps Engineer” - whatever that means. I’ve been a lurker in DEV for many moons and I’ve decided to join the community. Keeping up with Python, Bash and otherwise automated things geared towards creating or improving efficiency.
I am here to get familiar with the community and learn more on React
Welcome! This is a wonderful community and we are glad to have you as a part of it. React is probably one of the most popular subjects discussed here, so you are in luck! Is there anything specific you want to learn about React?
I came came across this community recently. it's amazing,
I am starting to learn web developer and I’m almost 40. I have been working as a support engineer all the time and found my true calling of being a front end dev. I am sure I’ll learn much from you if I do struggle with anything.
Hey

Hi,
Could you tell how did you verify/validate that confirm GoogleBOT dont render anymore JS during crawling?
Only by Google Search Console?
But it delay and not precise. Maybe you used any tools/logs?
I have disabled JS as well on couple of my SSR projects, but i am not sure GoogleBot dont JS.
Thanks
👋Hi!
I want to find the courage to quit my job become a digital nomad and travel the world with my laptop and my camera!
i'm a junior FE-react-dev with 2 years of experience building a design system for a big company. If you have any tips or resources how to start please hook me up! :)
Am Tor-steve am glad to be here. Am currently learning JavaScript at a beginner level.
Good to have you! This is a great place to learn some more JavaScript :) Is there anything you're currently struggling with that we could help with? Or: what is the hardest part that you've found about learning javascript?
Hi, I'm Riverfount. I'm a passionate and creative Python Developer and Open Source contributor. A tireless worker and quick learner obsessed with delivering value with quality software.
Heya! Currently following kamrahnamedse's front-end developer roadmap
failed to mention this great community, which felt like finding a unicorn when i came across it
-fun fact, i'm trying to pair a react app with everyone's loved/hated WordPress as a back-end
Hi!. Ancient programmer here. Supposed to be retired after many years in commercial data-processing. Languages like #Fortran, #Cobol and, shock!, #Assembler (on a Mainframe).
Bug-to-code re-got me 5 years back when I had to join the modern code-face and did some #ASP.NET (learning C# and Entity Framework in the mix). Liked it so much that I've decided to build an iOS/Mac/Windows app for business-use. It'll focus on privacy and security as I think some businesses are getting quite scared about all the cloud data-loss stories.
Long journey ahead but one thing you 'young' peeps have got right is all the forums that you can join! In my day, you had to send a email 'letter' to Computer Weekly and hope to get it published! Such forums are genuinely helpful and good. I see a lot, lot less 'horrible' stuff on such forums as this than on general social media - well done! Keep it up lads and lasses...
Bonjour!
I'm joining after reading A LOT of articles on dev.to,
looking forward connecting with you all and contributing back!
Good to finally have you as a member!
I am a marketer and now I am learning python. I am here to perfect my python skills and offer my marketing knowledge to the community.
Hi Everyone! Here as a full stack web dev. Work mainly in .NET and SQL. Want to tame the untameable JavaScript one day ;)
Looking forward to reading all your tips tricks and thoughts!
I want to get more into the webdev community and work towards doing full-stack JavaScript, make cool projects, meet cool people and learn a ton in the process.
Welcome Carl! This is a great place to get plugged in :)
Joined to get help on programming now and again. And hope to meet others with similar interests. I just code in plain php without any frameworks at the moment. My favourite topic is relational databases.
Hi! I've been a web developer the last ten years mainly using Java, PHP and Python. The last three years I started using Ionic and Angular and I'm currently exploring data science while I work as a freelancer. I hope I can help this community grow while I do the same.
Hi DEV people. I'm currently working on a community platform project aside from my job as full stack dev (Java, Javascript, Python). I'm here to get into contact with other dev's and learn some new stuff.
Morning, All 🤨. After messing-about with tech-stacks for around 2 years (I was busy on other matters!), I've finally FINALLY settled on a web-based tech stack for my next major project...a business productivity app focusing on security & privacy. I've been messing about with #JavaScript etc for a few years and seems I'm gonna have to do that properly now as my tech-stack of choice is........... #Quasar-framework, with, of course, #VueJS etc.
Long road ahead of me...but always really liked a deep understanding of my code (been a programmer for, ahem, some 40 years - gulp!)
Hello, Corey here. Looking to get into a better career, learning the ropes with TeamTreeHouse.com's techdegree program. Just looking to keep learning everyday!
Welcome! What's the most exciting you've learned so far?
Hello community!!
I'm a developer from Brazil, Curitiba to be more precisely.
At my actual job I'm working with Java creating API's, just backend. In my professional path I had worked with several programming languages like: C#, PHP, JS, Delphi, COBOL, pyhton. Basically a full-stack developer for all the time.
From time to time I check up dev.to to keep me updated!
Hello. Hope to enhance my skills from this community 💗✌️
Welcome!
I've just started learning JavaScript... I'm here to connect with developers who can help me on this journey...
Welcome! This is a great place to connect with devs and learn javascript :) What are you most excited to learn about?
I really don't know much about coding TBH as I am a marketing person. So, currently just everything about JS. :)
Hello everyone,
Full stack developer from India.
Here to engage with the community and learn much more.
Welcome! What types of applications do you work on?
I work for a company building cloud-based enterprise applications.
On the side, I am currently exploring node.js and vue.
I'm here to learn everything i can
Welcome!
Thanks
Hi, thanks for this site, I'm product manager and I would like to enhance my technical knowledge :)
Welcome! DEV is a great place to do that - lots of content for all interests / technical skill levels.
Hey! Alexey is here, data professional from Munich, working on data around busses and passengers. Currently building an internal AdTech solution on top of hundreds of TBs of historical data.
Working on getting better with vim, rust and bayesian statistics these days.
Have a great day all of you!
20 years of dev. Now managing devs. Still trying to keep up. ;)
Welcome! What did you find to be the biggest change going from dev to managing devs? Do you miss development?
Thanks, Chris.
To be frank, I was a pretty average dev and my strong suit has always been able to bring people, ideas, processes, and UI together. So not that great of a leap.
I don't miss it. I still get my hands dirty from time to time. I take joy in launching an app and watching it grow.
That makes sense - thanks for the insight! Glad you're enjoying what you do now :)
Hello, I have readed some posts in here and wanted to somehow save them cause they are so awesome so I made an account.
It looks like here are a lot of things to learn!
Welcome!
Thank you!
I'm here to share about writing PHP extensions (in C).
Interesting! What is the most common use case for PHP extensions in C?
Mostly binding to existing C libraries. For instance, I created a base58 extension that uses Bitcoin's libbase58. Encoding implementations in pure PHP are just too slow.
I'm also writing some other, more high-level language, libs like an implementation of PSR-7. But that's less common.
Ah, neat!
Hi Everyone. I have been in the software marketing and sales for the past 5 year. However, my I am now curving my future towards the integration of IoT and Web development. My interest therefore is #Flutter #Vue #npm #GraphQL #Python.
Hi everybody
I am junior solidity developer and interested in blockchain specially in Ethereum. And I want to enhance my skills in blockchain.
Welcome to Dev, I don't know a whole lot about crypto currency but I am really interested in the decentralised internet, what other things can you do with block chain?
I am currently on some personal decentralize application(contract managment system) by using ethereum(Ganache local ethereum blockchain), node js and react js for frontend.
That sounds really good fun! Quite a challenge, I think I had wrote about 5 versions of a CMS over and over. Lots to do! So is there some special way to get visitors into a platform like this, or is it just regular internet. Sorry for my ignorance 😁
Actually this is my first project on blockchain, but this project is for any firm who manages its employee's contract on ethereum blockchain and pay their salaries in crypto according to the uploaded projects on blockchain. As you know once contract is uploaded on blockchain it can't be modified,so there is lot of auditing needs to be done before using it.I have no idea about getting visitors into platform like this.
Here to be with you guys! Warm and tight.
I will be doing "Learn Ruby and Rails in 2 weeks and build listing app" but TED talks say that you should talk about things you will do but things you've done. So I did chemistry 4 years, and Automation Testing 4 years. Approaching my 30s and learning how to code other stuff.
Cheers and accomplishments to everyone!
Hey all, I'm Mia. I'm a junior software engineer (Python/Node.js & React.js mainly) and a teaching assistant on the software engineering bootcamp at General Assembly.

Hi! My name is Matt and I'm glad to have found this place! I've built a few computers as a kid and am rediscovering programming and coding at 30. I was keen on making a modern portfolio site in Gatsby where I could host some files and docs to show potential employers. But I haven't completed it, because I hit a point with the code where I didn't know what was doing what. Now I am learning React.js from the ground up with an Andrew Mead tutorial on udemy - and he's a fantastic teacher! He even responded to my Q&As when I ran into problems understanding my own RPi Raspian folder architecture. So I'm hoping to revisit my portfolio site once I learn more about how these components work. Loving my Pi.
