Hello fellow devnauts,
Just signed up. I've been a dev for over a decade now! I've recently been looking for communities to connect with other likeminded people. Happy to see how kind everyone has been with the likes and unicorns and whatnot š¤š
If you like cannabis and you code, hit me up! āļøššØ I'd love to see what kind of dank code you're creating.

Excited to have you here! We write with Markdown around here. Here's a cheatsheet.
Also, here's one of my favorite articles so far:
I am a mediocre developer
Nikita Sobolev
A great point to start and strive to become a better developer ā¢ļ¹ā¢ Thnx
Thanks for the tips and the article recommendation!
Welcome welcome welcome!
All are welcome to contribute. Giving a ā¤ļø or š¦ to encourage the stuff you like is a great way to do so if you're not sure what kind of post or comment you might want to leave.
Please treat comments like you might in a face-to-face setting like at a conference. Show respect, be constructive, and asking follow up questions to the author or others is always appreciated. It's a great way for us to all learn.
Yes it's a great way for us to all learn :D
āļ¹ā Hi! I'm Daniel.
I have some background on cs and coding is one of my favorite activities.( Ā“_ć`) My weakest points include the lack of experience and self-discipline.(Ėļø¶Ė)I'm always looking for new friends.
Welcome! Lots of friendly people around here. :)
I lack discipline a lot too š but I want to learn so much! Luckily I have lots of ideas for projects I would like to do at the moment :) What are you "working" on? š
Aside of my many unfinished projects, I might be completing some freeCodeCamp challenges š¤. What about you? š
I want to write an app with React Native but I need to do more in C++ first (I need it for school). But I think I will start building the app soon :) Will be something more private I guess but who knows what lies ahead?! :D
I wish you a lot of fun with your projects and of course at freeCodeCamp! I enjoyed learning there about web technoliges a bit too :) (not finished though - ha I'm such a slug)
Yeah! me too š I also wanted to make Native app in the near future, but since I feel more comfortable using Vue, probably will use NativeScript š¤
Bests coding ;)
Hi Lee! I am in San Francisco and Iām an experienced dev. Iām interested in talking to a Holberton school student and seeing what life is like there. Letās connect!
Awesome! Whatās the best way to contact you?
Hello Lee How are you
Good :) howās it going Yasin?
Hello Lee,
Nice to see you here and good luck (y)
Hi, I'm Parker! I like to write about coding interviews, tech careers, impostor syndrome, and not giving up.
Hey Parker,
thanks for doing that! Hope I'll read a lot of your stuff, definitely need that :)
Awesome to have you
Yo!
My name is George,
Just another big dreamer - little doer here.
Was in the IT field back in my high school, and didn't like code at all!
I've tried bunch of stuff, artistic mostly but left them half-way through.
Then I wanted to try and study something in the field of nature and forestry.. but being honest with myself, i can't even stand reading biology, geography and so on ^
Plus i was/am poor af, if you pardon my language. But that's another story.
So I decided to give code a chance after watching YT videos, reading articles, understanding that its probably the most wanted profession out there right now, etc.
Now I realize that, basically code IS Art.. tell that to someone that doesn't know a bit about it, and they will be afraid of it and tell you it's a bunch of lines-of-ultimate-frustration.
That's what i thought back in school too.
Nevertheless, gladly i got hooked with it ^ So from now on i want to make a turn in my life and finally develop a skill, so that i can too, contribute out to the real world and not be a little doer any more. (Tired of being a senseless waiter too.)
I am still in the "tutorial" part though, Web development is what i chose, after trying Java and Android as well.
I know it's a hard and long way to go, but then again... what isn't?
Looking forward exploring code with you guys, and i wish to all of us, to never lose hope and keep trying!
Stephen Hawking despite his hardships, found the courage and the motivation to become great!
Thanks _^
Hello Everyone,
I am Edward. A friend shared a post that I liked and related with it, read it and loved it :). I'm currently learning Android, I love linux and had an obsession for everything low level ;) ( C++). This is a community I have been searching for all my programming years :(. Now I found it ā”:)
Welcome Edward!
thank you
Hello, I'm Tom. I have a PhD in Computer Science and have been working at a cyber security company making mobile apps for a couple of years. I have been a long time reader of the site but never actually signed up but it seems like an awesome community!
Cool! Kind of considering taking up a PhD in CS. Is it worth it?
Hi guys:) Iām Kentaro from Japan.

Hi! Do you live in Japan? äøäŗŗć§ę„ę¬čŖćåå¼·ćć¾ćć
Hi. I'm new here, but not to coding. I believe I'm better than average, but I'm still only a mediocre programmer. I like Occam's razor, not only when seeking explanations, but also when building things; simplicity makes code, documentation, and licensing better. On that note, I think I'm done.
I am Momen, anyone can call me Mo, i am front-end developer, i am interested in many fields, i am in high school, i love computer science and learning so much so that i can set all the day work if i am learning new thing or useful thing, but if it trash i will hate the time i waste in it, i will can't write more about my self :D
I forgot to answer about what brought me here, I see my friend share a question here on facebook, so i entire to here and discover, in the first I don't like it, but with more browsing I like it so much, people write posts 'Explain something to me like I am five' or similar things, it's so cool benefit from you and I like all discuss here it's so useful.
Originally from Ireland, living in the UK. I love snooker, running and rainy days. I'm a web developer and affiliate marketing intermediate who's having trouble building profitable campaigns. I have had conversions in different verticals but I have not generated any sort of ROI. Would love to learn more from my fellow marketers here and grow with you.
Hi,
I'm Dhiraj, founder of a resource blog called begindot.com and I have also stated some popular blogs in the past such as sourcewp.com.
We have been creating content around the resources for developers, WordPress related resources, fonts, logos etc. You can find some resources for your next design at begindot.com.
This looks like a great place to learn a lot of things :)
Hi everyone. You all can call me Drew. I'm from Quebec and I'm currently back at school in Sofware Engineering. I've been working as a developer for 8 years, primarily in Web.
I'm currently working on DevOps stuff, mainly trying to figure out how to use SaltStack in a process-oriented manner, meaning that installing and configuring software is one process of many others that a DevOps need to overcome: manage and test backups, update system, transfer services to other VMs, etc.
Have fun :D
Hi, I'm very excited to join you all here! I found this community via Twitter and thought it looked great! I'm learning front-end web dev through the Udacity Nanodegree Google Scholarship (recommend applying). It covers HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, React, Git and also offers a careers service. Currently working on my portfolio website, where I've added my DEV badge. Will share when done! I'm a complete beginner with a LOT to learn but hoping to build enough confidence to work as a developer one day. Where I currently work, they use PHP, but I'll wait until my course has finished before I consider back-end.
Awesome!!
Hello everyone, nice to be here! I'm Tara, a web developer, studying in final year of college. I'm passionate about new technologies, design and the web in general.
I'm always on the lookout for friends to build sleek things and discuss about everything under the sun!
Heyo! I'm Matthieu but Matt should be easier to spell. š
I'm into programming since ~10 years but I'm new in the market (still 1 year of study and off we go!)
I found this site through hacker news and after looking at what was posted here I decided I should join the discussions! š
Hi everyone, i'm Chris, im an front end developer (angular) and i found this community via twitter, im from Mexico and i love to learn, i know that i will found a lot of interesting things here, regards to all of you.
Hi!
My name is Chris, i'm a angular developer from Mexico and i found this community via twitter, right now i'm improving my skills in javascript and angular/typescript (i'm a front end developer) also in html and css (i'm not so good in this, if you have tips i'll be grateful).
I'm always looking to learn not only in web dev, regards.
Hello everyone - I'm Lev, a final year undergraduate at Imperial College London. My main interests are low-level systems software (scalable operating systems specifically).
I'm here due to a recommendation by a colleague, and to read and maybe write a few posts about some low-level features.
Best wishes!
Hi everyone!
I'm bootstrapping a platform that makes it easier to have dev dashboards. As part of that I'm doing a lot of React, Ruby (Rails 5 API) and will get back into React Native soon.
Happy to be part of the community!
I'm Bruno, tech enthusiastic, know just a tiny bit about Python.
Wanting to learn more about it and what is possible to built with it.
What brought me here was a sentiment analysis on Twitter using python!
Hello

I don't have any discipline and I get distract on other technologies, when start to learn something, I get bored when something don't work as spected.
But I try, and try till sometimes I stop for months, and start again.
I want to change, I want to set some rules, hey but what rules to set.
Thanks guys,

Hi to all the great devs and like-minded peeps on this site :D
Super excited to finally sign up and be more than just a lurker.
I created an application called dApp news, which focuses on dApp development and resources and I see the marriage from this community to have more dApp devs join in.
Feel free to reach out and I look forward to interacting with everyone!
Hello everybody!
This is the first step I take to develop a new view on learning and helping others while doing so.
I haven't been involved in any online movements so far and i regret doing so.
This is such a good opportunity to learn and to connect with others in a fun way.
I plan on writing about stuff I learn along the way and also provide feedback on stuff that I am already good at.
Looking forward for this journey with you guys.
Big step to progress, ma' friend! :)
Good luck to you & more posts to see!
You have my blessing.
Hello, I'm a 16-year-old high school in Taiwan.
I started to learn programming when I am 16-year-old, because I want to write my own plugin for Minecraft which is my favorite game.
So I start learning Java, and finally create a first plugin.
After that, I met JavaScript, which is my favorite programming language.
I like it because it is so freedom and easy, I don't need to write a lots of classes if I use JavaScript.
Currently, I also working on some tiny js library on GitHub because I feel satisfaction.
Sorry for my bad English...
Great to have you!
Hi all! I'm Sean.
Glad to be part of this community. I'm currently a CS undergrad and I love the posts here. Cool stuff! Facebook sponsored posts brought me here. Currently learning a lot of things like CS stuff (right now, it's operating system concepts), and hoping to learn OpenGL some time.
Fun fact? Uhm, does sleeping through a super typhoon (300 km/h speed) back in 2013 count?
Hello!
This is Shashank here. Call me shanky and a unicorn will wipe the bugs from your code!
My dev work currently consists of React with Redux(Redux Saga is messing with my head currently).
I have worked in Swift and developed iOS apps. Used machine learning to predict some anomalies. Currently learning Tensor flow(Any tips would be welcome). Huge fan of blockchain and have developed an app using the Stellar Blockchain and React.

Iām striving to become a better developer. I value tipps from other developers. Besides developing knowledge I enjoy and appreciate humor and human experiences on the way to becoming a better developer.
I've never been active on dev forums, mostly because i feared saying something wrong. But I kept reading the articles and now I've got at least the courage to post this!
I'm Alex and I'm a Java dev. intern in Brazil. I hope to conttibute to this community as much as it has contributed to me :]
I was having the same fear. Even I got a little courage to post something.
Hi everyone!
I'm Camilla! I run a small software consulting company and help people setup data science environments for classes and teams. I've worked mostly with Python, Java and R - now I'm looking into Go (mostly to be able to read Kubernetes source code) and Clojure. I'm generally happy to pick up any languages that is best for the problem and/or the team.
In the future, I want to help companies and governments be better at understanding and interpreting machine learning models.
Welcome! Looks like you do awesome work.
Hi! My name is Maria.
I was looking for a blogging platform and found this site, the community has been awesome, just right for a coder who looks for new interesting staff.
I've been a python coder for about a year, I work mostly on Django-based projects, but recently I've discovered a new passion: Java. Also, I'm learning React.
I'd be glad to be a part of the community, I'd like to contribute.
Hi, I am Paul Kinlan - Web Developer - and I lead Google Web and Chrome Developer Relations team. I'm mostly here to hangout, read great content, learn new things and speak to great developers!
I do a lot with Progressive Web Apps, IPC on the web, modern web apps and API's etc.
Hello people, first of I love the fact that this is in
Consolas
font-family. I'm Divyesh 22 y.o. I've completed my Bachelors in ICT ( information and communication technology which is basically all the Computer Science courses plus few electronics)University messed up my grades so had to lose 4 job offers on campus and had to come home since then I have been learning practicing , DS & Algorithms with Python on geeksforgeeks.org , and going through FreeCodeCamp for web development lead me to learn more about Backend development. So I learnt Django Python and created my simple blog site, you guys can see it here: blogbuster.pythonanywhere.com and now playing around with Node.js creating simple webapps like login-signup and blog site.
Would love to be a part of this community and learn from you all
Hi everyone,
I signed up a few weeks ago, but finally posting now.
I've been a dev then sales engineer, but I'm getting a little bored and demotivated lately, and I joined to look at and participate in interesting discussions.
Right now, I'm building an open source micro-learning LMS, and I do some work at startups, and lately I've been thinking about ways I can use my skills in a more creative way.
Great to have you!
I was very much new to Twitter seeking a nerdy life. š That's when i find ThePracticalDev on Twitter. Opening dev.to and signed up still it took some days for me to become active. I'm totally loving this place. A place where I belong . Thanks people. You're the best.
Hey!
I'm a 14-year-old Aussie who got into programming almost by accident. Back in 2015 during some school holidays I was bored, but had been playing a lot of Minecraft and wanted to create my own server for the Pocket Edition version.
Things moved quickly, and before I realised I what had happened I was hooked - I was spending hours attempting to code stuff on a Raspberry Pi, teaching myself PHP.
Now, I've moved on again from that, working mainly with JS (building everything from small click-the-button games to a terminal interface JavaScript library). In the last couple of days I've also started learning Python. I have a bad habit of taking on too many projects at once.
I also happen to be a bookworm - some might say I read too much, but that's not possible, right?
Hey all! Just a quick intro: I'm doing a M.Sc. Compute Science - Bioinformatics after finishing my B.Sc. Biology. I want to create some sort of online presence for myself and what better way than signing up here and some other places! Most projects I worked on were done in R, C++ or Python, but I also have experience with HTML, CSS and MySQL. I hope to get a lot more experience and a network to count on along the way..
Hi, my name is Renisha Christie. I am a career-changer developer ;) I wanted to switch careers from what seemed to be a dead-end job to something that satisfied my need to grow and improve upon my skills without having to stop.
I started learning front-end development last year. I chose front-end development because i had always wanted to code and was interested in web design as a career choice after college but I was easily discouraged back then and fear and lack of resources (mainly fear) stopped me from trying.
I came upon dev.to while looking for how to make multiple pull requests to the same repo and immediately signed up because the article was clear and concise. Upon further browsing this community seems to be friendly and helpful and I am glad to be here.
Greetings and Salutations,
I'm a technophile since my dad bought me my first Heathkit electronic kit. Later my step-dad introduced me to Apple II and original IBM personal computers. From there, I've assembled PCs, networked them using Lattisnet and Netware, on to Windows 3.11, servers, interwebs, virtualization, security and beyond. Decided that just keeping them running and connected wasn't enough and started writing software. Haven't stopped. Still learning. Came here to network and share.
~Chris.
Hello everybody!
I've been reading a lot of the Dev posts on here for a while and I've finally decided to sign up! I do a lot of android dev in kotlin and java, I'm trying to learn python for data science, and my favorite animal is the frog šø. I'm happy to be here!
Hey...I'm happy to be here
I'm Emmanuella or Ella from Kenya and happened to know about this site on Twitter. š.So I have some background in IT but its mostly theoretical. I'm here so I can get as practical as much as practical is practical.š. I lack experience though, but I feel like I'm on the right track being here. Feels good to know that I'm not alone as a newbiešš.Wouldn't mind finding a mentor and oh...this font is just awesome...I could go on and on...
Peace and light!
Yo, I'm Leban. I'm a language agnostic developer. Although I've got some projects under my belt, I always get the feeling that I've got a case of imposter syndrome. For instance, I've just graduated from college. Even before then, I knew that what I was being taught wasn't enough. I started used various sources to learn how to program. I learned how to program in various languages, learn some web development techniques and frameworks, etc. But somehow I feel that awful case of imposter syndrome.
I love the articles here and I hope that I can contribute to the site despite my lack of professional experience.
I'm a Front-End Web Dev with a focus on teaching serverless app dev on the Firebase platform.
It's always great to connect with fellow devs, especially those who are just getting started.
Let me know how I can help you grow your career or business!
Hi I am Gonzalo, I am passionated about technology, I have been working for a long years in the software development world and I am interesting on everything around software (I love the Go language :) ).
Hi everyone,
Glad to join the group. I have 20+ years experience in Systems | ARM | FPGA | Firmware | IOT | SOC | Servo | Robotics, and control systems.
i am now re-learning Python in connection with AI and data mining.
Nice to meet everybody.
Cheers

Hello all,
I've popped in here every now and then, but I have only just created an account. I am a full stack developer and have been doing it professionally for 5 years (personal development has been a lot longer).
My primary tech is PHP, MySQL and JS using frameworks and libraries to help ease dev work such as Laravel, ReactJS, Symfony and many more.
I have also dipped into Java and C#, but haven't gone too crazy with that tech.
My current workplace is Lightfoot (Exeter, UK) where we have created a device that monitors your acceleration and gives you feedback. If you're revving too hard, then it lets you know that you should ease off the accelerator and enables the driver to save petrol. (Really cool product).
Hello everyone, I am mainly engaged in web development on Javascript and PHP. In my work I use React, Redux, Laravel. Now I raise the level of knowledge of the python. I'm interested in the directions of AI and Blockchain.
Hi All,
I'm a long time in development (hoping to soon be released), currently freelancing doing LAMP stack devops (emphasis on the dev) & struggling to cover all the bases.
Also am a semi-pro muso.
Came here for help with ReactJS, and for the community, of course.
Hi I'm Frano
I have followed some great articles on FB and found dev.to. I have experience in C++/Delphi/Oracle DB programming. I want to learn more about programming Android apps.
Looking forward to meet new friends!
Hello hello.
Way way back in the geocities era I used to spend hours after school in the library creating Dragon Ball Z tribute websites. Mainly copying and pasting html from other DBZ tribute pages. :P I fell in love with learning new html syntax. I remember the feeling well. After this brief moment in time I became distracted with video games, girls, "hanging out" with friends, and escaping the tyranny of my parental figures. Now in my 30s, married with a child on the way, and making a living as a licensed massage therapist I've decided to revisit this old passion after getting involved in the blockchain space. I don't want to just invest money. I want to create and build within this world of cryptography and bring along what I've learned in life. I want and need to use my brain, skills and perspective to do something that gives me the same feeling I used to get after previewing the newly injected code on my old DBZ tribute page. This time to hopefully change the world somehow. This may sound cheesy but I really do care about humanity, mostly :P. So I'm back to learning in a more structured manner and one day see myself working remotely while helping to raise my children and spending lots of time with my amazingly supportive wife. Got to dream big. I look forward to learning from each of you and maybe even working with some of you as well.
Hello fellow devs,
I've been using dev.to for a long time. Thought of contributing back to community, so wrote my first post on cost saving hacks for startups
Give it a read and let me know your thoughts.
Hello I'm Giona,
I'm an "old" developer
I thinks it's so exciting to be a developer nowadays ... I do not know where to start ... I like technology, I never have enoĆ²ugh learning a new one: cloud, tensorFlow, react, angular, polymer, go, node.js, c, java, swift ... the more the better!
Hi, Iām Brian Austin and I am a software architect. Iāve spent the last ten years working with web services and back-end data processing and integrations for small to medium sized businesses.
I earned a B.S. in Management Information Systems. Long before, I began my coding adventure by transcribing BASIC programs from 3-2-1 Contact magazine into an IBM āluggableā. Later I mastered the art of customizing DOS Telix scripts and mIRC chat bots. During my college years I built websites that worked in both Netscape and Internet Explorer.
These days Iām focused on building RESTful microservices in the cloud, primarily in Java and .Net. Iāve also constructed a few serverless AWS Lambda functions and APIs in Node.Js. When Iām not coding Iām mentoring developers, setting up CI/CD pipelines and training the team in DevOps practices. Iām most often heard saying things like āhave you checked the wikiā and āthereās a keyboard macro for that.ā
Hello everyone
I've been coding as a hobby ever since I could remember. Recently I've been taking it more seriously and I'm in the process of completing a bootcamp program.
Love the supported spirit of this community. Love to travel, code and live life to its fullest.
Hi everyone!
I'm an italian communication engineer, with an experience as a web developer. At the moment I work as a computer science, computer networking and programming teacher in a technical high school.
I met The Practical Dev through The Devs Telegram channel. I enjoyed many of your posts, so I decided to sign up.
I think it's important to give my students not only theoretical (and possibly not obsolete) knowledge, but also the feeling of what it means to be a developer. Communities like this allow me to stay connected with actual developers who share their actual experiences: this is precious for me and for my students.
Thank you for help me to be a better teacher!
I don't remember what brought me here! I think a post that someone linked to on twitter. Anyway, I was a full-time ASP.NET developer for many years. When I became a freelancer over 5 years ago I somehow could only find clients who needed help with PHP. Since then I have been doing mostly web development with PHP and some Node.js. I really love Ruby (Rails is great for many types of sites, but it's not why I love Ruby) but have never been paid to write any. Maybe someday that will change.
Hi everyone!
I'm a graphic designer turned JavaScript developer a few ages ago and an immigrant in beautiful Canada šØš¦I also have a few open source project I maintain with much love in my spare time š
I heard great things about the community over here so I come to follow up on the good content and share anything that might be relevant from time to time š
Hello mates!!
Here you have a new dev from Spain in the community. I have 4 years experience and I willing to learn everything related to JS and its frameworks!
I'm here to meet new people and talk about programming and developing software!
So if u are interested in JS, web dev or any tech involving the web, I'll be happy to connect!
Hello! I'm a web developer since 2012, using mostly Java, JSP, Javascript and MySQL. I am currently doing freelance work using NodeJS, Express, MongoDB and GraphQL. My website: brunolimadev.com
Hello. Rami Ismael retweeted this so I figured it's legit. I just want to make games, man. Currently trying to learn basic AJAX functionality for a game idea and already hit a snag. Hoping to ask about it here. I asked on Twitter, and plenty of coders Liked or Retweeted my question, but no answers so far.
Hi, Iām Cat! Iāve been in the industry about 10 years - started in QA and now automating whenever possible. Iām self-taught and my days are 50% āHEY LOOK WHAT I DID!ā and 50% āOh god oh god theyāre all gonna find out I have no idea wtf is going on.ā
My understanding is that this will continue until I die. š
Hello, I think you guys are great and this community is going to be very interesting.
I'm a Curious Developer, i do android app dev mostly but recenty i've been feeling bored. looking forward to meet other bored developers š
Hello Everyone,
This is Harish. I am excited to be here. Looking to improve my skills in software engineering. I have one year of programming experience and I still feel as a beginner. Excited to learn from you guys.
Hello everyone,
Been registered here for a while but have yet to really do too much on the website. I originally found out about this via twitter (@thepracticaldev ) as I was enjoying the memes posted.
As for my about me, I consider myself a junior developer at the time of writing this. I have been working with React/React-Native for a little over a year. Before I got into that I was doing small iOS projects in Swift, nothing major though.
In the Summer of 2016, my friend and I built a small application to make playing Pokemon-GO easier for us. Within four days we had over 1,000,000 daily active users spread across the globe. The rest of that Summer was spent trying to keep the project alive, as we did not build this for the userbase we ended up having.
After seeing first hand what a small team can accomplish, I started focusing on being a software developer full time. I really enjoy the front end side of things, especially on mobile. On the side, I am trying to fully grasp how I can go about setting up any backend tech I might need. I have some experience with Express and MongoDB, but not nearly enough to be where I would like to be.
This community seems like a very good place to chat with people as well as find useful resources, so I am happy to be here! :)
Feel free to hit me up, I'd love to see what people are making!
HELLO WORLD,
Signed up moments back.I am very excited to be a part of this ever growing and productive community.Hope to see you around.Other than programming I am into trekking, mountains and CS-GO .
-Neeraj,India
Yellow fellow devs!
I won't bore you with how long or how much I know. Suffice it to say that I am language agnostic.
Currently, I am working on extending the functionality of the Drupal Form Mode Manager module to support the Group entity so that my client, Lovin.Community can customize the Group Membership form for each Group. This project is running the Open Social distribution of Drupal 8.
And for fun, I am a codementor.
Long term, I am looking to build a freelancer team so we can work on larger projects together. A lot needs to be done to make it work right, though. The main issue right now is finding or building a system that allows for a client to make a single payment for the project and it gets split between the freelancers on the team (rates are set by hours logged against each task and/or by each freelancer). Think Harvest Team meets Paypal payments (used to be Mass Payments).
So, if you are interested in working with me on this project, looking for a module/plugin developer, or just wanna chat, hit me up! :)

React/Rails Dev with 3+ years experience (orange county, CA)
I am a self taught full-stack dev, ive cut my teeth in startup Land, I feel in order to keep my passion for coding going I have to be constantly writing code, and especially spending time on free style coding side projects .
I would like to start writing more coding articles , alot of my work has been tied up in private repos, but I would really like to expand and try to help teach others.
Working on a personal website , this is all i have so far hahaha.

I am Zimbabwean, in a different career but I love coding and I would like to learn more and make new friends. Thank you and I am looking forward to interacting with you guys. Cheers!
Hello dev.to ! I am a current computer science student, this seems like the perfect place to learn new stuff in the field and write better code. I hope I will come across interesting content and so improve myself :D
Hi everyone, I'm a seasoned developer for over 10+ years now, primarily on the DOTNET tech stack. I stumbled upon this site by accident. No one was harmed. I promise.
One of my quirks is checking in code at 1AM, which has a 30-70% chance of being the best code I've ever written. If it isn't, then the 2 AM code check-in usually resolves it.
Hello, I am Kofi Bamfo Quaicoe, an IT undergraduate student in Ghana. I am passionate about web and mobile development. One of my goals is to understand everything on javascript... I love sitting behind my laptop always confused...
Hi, I'm Michael. I am a cofounder at Active Theory where my device effort is mainly in 3D graphics on the web, building tools and teams, and some native stuff to make our web code run in places like AR.
I love the concept of progressive web apps. Dev's pwa is awesome and fast on Android so that led me here.
Hi. My first computer was a Sinclair ZX-81 with 1kb of RAM. I have worked in the industry on and off in various capacities. I am now making a deep-dive into Angular, RxJS, TypeScript, NativeScript and other cool front-end technologies.
Hey folks!
Australian indie gamedev here, worked or working on King Arthur's Gold, Trench Run, No Mario's Sky, Planetoid Pioneers and a whole lot of smaller titles and game jam games.
Primarily C++ and Lua these days, but in the past a lot of JS, C, Java, and C# too. I'm also an artist, which helps me avoid spending all day looking at a text editor š
Looking forward to getting stuck in. I've been reading on and off for a couple of months. Seems like a welcoming, interesting, fresh community š
Hello,
I am pretty new to development. I am self-taught and hoping to get advice on the best ways to make a permanent career change. I have build few web pages and and Node applications, but I realize my learning journey has just begun. Fortunately, that is one of my favorite features (or bugs) of working as a developer... there is always more to learn. Any advice you have to offer is greatly appreciated and I look forward to reading tons of articles here. Thanks
Hello, I am a developer, still learning... interested in Java, mostly, but I am learning web design, SQL, and some Python. I want to understand J2EE, although it goes by a newer name (we use old stuff at work).
Hi everyone, 20 years in development always thinking I'm a noob.
Always searching for a way to make things errorless and automated since I think humans are error prone by design.
Rewriting and controlling things infinite times before I feel comfortable.
I spent two years on my own first project written in Visual Basic .NET and it was fast and developed at my best. Thinking I will release this on github but comments and code (variables, function names etc.) is written in Italian language and I have to translate. Too much work for now.
Lost (not all) my programming skills working in html, css and a little js for 6.5 years. Trying to gain solid knowledge in programming, in particular in javascript-related development in the last 1 year, and I'm thinking to do a learn by doing on some open source project.
i see the site for my friend, i needing one site where can interesting articles for developer i liked :D .. sorry for my english haha
Hi, I am Raj from India (no Big Band Theory references please). I've just started out my IT career. It might sound uncool but I am not a professional developer. But the joy you get by developing a piece of code for a functionality is immensely satisfying and looking for that joy, I've ended up here. I hope that everyone over here helps me out to become a Hard-Core Developer which is what I've been dreaming lately.
Hello All, I am Prasoon here. I am excited to be here and looking forward for interesting conversations around python, ansible, and anything in devops.
Looking forward for more contributions here, i am available for interesting projects too.
All for the community.
Holy Moly ;).
Hello everyone, I'm Vladimir, from Ukraine, based in Prague, interested in front-end webdev and web design. Finished HTML/CSS/JS basics, currently diving deeper into JS and get acquainted with SASS. I like yoga, cooking, reading and old movies. Always open to new friends!
hello š
I've been a developer/hacker/software engineer over the past two decades, I've been involved in opensource projects, opensource/freespeech initiatives, I even founded a hackerspace.
I've hacked electronics, written firmwares, built backends for web-oriented applications for a living. And today, I'm CTO of a French startup that makes last mile delivery better. It's called Zeloce and BTW we're hiring š¤
I'm always learning, and I recently learned Ruby, Rails, React and ReactNative. Next I'll learn and use GraphQL. And my bucketlist for the next stuff I want to learn is mainly Elixir, Rust. š¤
I like to troll (in a good way) about the serious stuff ā like languages, operating systems, Linux distributions, instant messaging or editorsā¦ Even though it's not really trolling, I mean it's obvious that Vim (and Neovim) is the best editor. š
Don't hesitate to ping me here, on twitter, or on IRC.
Because slack sucks. Because ā„ IRC ā„.
BTW, my favorite con is the FOSDEM, and I attend every year, so I'd be happy to meet any of you there.
P.S.: I also got two cats, and they're awesome. instagram.com/Mallow_et_Lumeau
P.S.2.: And my wife, she's a plant-nerd, and she's totally awesome instagram.com/sweetyoxalis
Greetings Devs
The name is Tomi and I'm a software developer, mobile and web apps primarily. I came across this site while google searching something and seemed like perhaps a nice place to start writing; been planning on posting some developer articles on new learning projects for a while now.

Hi everyone! I'm a theoretical physics major graduating this spring and just got a job as a developer. I have minor studies in computer science and have done some work with Java, C++ and Bash in the past.
I aim to spend as little time as possible sitting in front of a computer. It's not healthy. But like video games, it's fun and engaging.
I read a few posts here at dev.to and got interested enough to join. Hopefully I can contribute something of value to community as my skills develop.
Hi everyone,
My name is Solomon, I'm a software engineer about 2 years in various fields but mostly in back-end, microservices and cloud. Beside that, I'm interesting with game and low-level programming too but still finding my start. Nice to meet you all.

Hey everyone, I'm a 3rd year CS student at the University of Cape Town who's trying to learn how to be a real world developer (a CS degree teaches you very little about making apps and using frameworks) and this looks like a good site to help with that :D
Hello!
I am Jecie. An IT student major in Web Technologies in University of the Cordilleras, here in Philippines. Hope you could help me on coding.:) Thank you.
Hi š I come from the Pearl of the Orient too! Glad to meet a fellow countrymen here! š
Hi there, everyone:
I've been following dev.to on Twitter and have really enjoyed the posts so far. I'm wrapping up a degree in IT Support and currently working remote for a SaaS CDN based in Pittsburgh. My tech skills tend to be more "soft" than "hard", as I am not a programmer and enjoy developing workflows, integrations and solutions. While I'm comfortable in a CLI environment (my hobbies include running my home lab), I think it's important to recognize that others can generate lines of code better than you. Not everyone on a team is Dev or DevOps.
One goal I have is to establish an LLC so that I can safely offer solutions to small organizations that are in need of a technical workflow. I constantly hear from artists or small businesses that they are overwhelmed by their options for networks or backup processes, and I'd like to solve those problems for them.
On a broader scale, I am learning more about DFIR, playbooks and the culture of incident response as it applies to all types of companies. As I work towards escaping the ties that have kept me in this cold, grey city most of my life, I'd like to find a position with a company that allows me to live somewhere warmer and perhaps continue working remotely. A diverse, positive workplace is important to me and I value a engaging team culture that encourages growth and personal health.
..Glad I found this community!
Hi Everyone,
This is Aditya aka D1mz. Initially I was afraid of programming though I'm a cs student. Gradually developed love for linux, open source and CS. Got certified by redhat. Fell in love with programming after knowing how it can make a system admin's life easier. I'm learning python now and trying to get involved in the automation team at work.
Welcome Aditya! :)

Hello, everyone :)
I'm Courtney Olivia. I'll be graduating from my coding boot camp on May 12th and I am a student at University of Maryland University College majoring in digital media and web technology. Although I'm trained in full-stack development, I very much prefer front-end development and enjoy combining my love of design with my love for tech. I've been coding for almost 6 months now, but I still consider myself very much "junior" and still continuously learning. There is just SO much information to learn, but I love a good challenge! Happy coding, everyone! Let's help each other grow.

Hi I am 34 years of age born in the magical and wonderful year 1983.
Linux and coding have been passions of mine for as long as I can remember and this place seems like a nice place to be :)
I grew up on IRC during the RTFM era when tutorials where few and far between and questions were a sign of weakness so places like these are a breath of fresh air! From Sweden so pardon my poor grammar and also i study Systems Science full time, work 50% and I have to little rascals to look out for so don't be surprised if I'm not very active! :)
