I would say it depends. On yourself definitely. I have colleagues for whom it’s just a job. Some are good at it some are bad. People operate at different speed i.e. understand faster or slower, have different learning styles etc. For me personally a working day is too short to get deeper into certain topics. That’s why I read books about coding in my spare time or solve some katas or work on an own project. Find your balance. Don’t look too much at what others do but at the same time stay up to date. And try to become good at what you are doing. Ask for feedback and listen carefully.
