Best Web Development Stack 💥2024

Looking for the best web development stack to work with? Here are some of the Best Web Development Stack in demand in 2024. Before we start the list let’s know what the web development stack is.

What Is A Web Development Stack?

A tech stack is defined as the set of technologies an organization uses to build a web or mobile application. It is a combination of programming languages, frameworks, libraries, patterns, servers, UI/UX solutions, software, and tools used by its developers.

Besides, A stack can (and is meant to) be used repeatedly to develop web applications. Individual developers, as well as software companies, often specialize in a specific stack or several stacks.

As a potential client of a software company or someone interested in developing a new web or mobile app, you should definitely be interested in the web development stack of the company you wish to work with.

It refers to the technologies they specialize in and use together to develop new pieces of software. They mainly consist of NodeJS, MongoDB, ExpressJS, Angular, React, Vue, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Apache.

Front-End, Client-Side Technology Stack

A web application has two primary sides. One is available to the client and is accountable for the UI, while the other is liable for the client’s experience.

The side that is open to the client and exploited by him/her to communicate with the application establishes the front end. The front-end technology stack principally comprises HTML, CSS, Java, and so forth.

HTML

It is a programming language utilized for portraying the construction of data introduced on a page. Also, it utilizes the most recent rendition of HTML HTML5 which has new components and qualities for making web applications all the more effective and viably. The fundamental benefit that HTML5 is that it has sound and video support, which was excluded from past variants of HTML.

CSS

It is a template language that portrays the look and design of a document written in HTML. CSS is utilized for explaining text and inserting labels in styled electronic documents.

JavaScript

It is the third primary technology for building the front end of a web application. It is regularly utilized for making dynamic and intuitive site pages. Besides, it also empowers basic and complex web animations, which significantly add to a positive client experience. JavaScript helps to make easy-to-understand applications for addition on this subject.

You can check some collections of admin templates based on HTML, CSS, and JS here: Bootstrap Admin Templates.

Back-End, Server-Side Technology Stack

The working of the application dependent on the client association is primarily the back end or server side. It isn’t available to the client, and the technology answerable for creating it is known as the back-end technology stack. Programming languages, libraries, structures, servers, data set administration frameworks, and so forth, are the huge parts of back-end tech stacks.

The backend stack incorporates these components:

Programming languages – This makes logic for applications and sites. The codes interface the web to a data set. A few models are JavaScript, PHP, and Python.

Frameworks – it offers help for applications dependent on a single programming language. Laravel, Django, and Ruby on Rails are many of the well-known systems.

Web Servers – You need backend servers to oversee customer demands. Apache, Nginx, and Microsoft’s Internet Information Server (IIS) are extraordinary instances of web servers.

Is Full Stack Development Still In Demand?

Well, the answer is YES. It is always beneficial for the company to have someone who has total experience in both front-end and back-end development.

These days full-stack development should be thought of in a little different way. They usually are experienced Devs who worked as both front-end and back-end developers and have enough knowledge of both to use it to benefit the team, making it easier for the front-end and backend teams to communicate with each other.

Such Devs are very valuable and at TSH they are often made tech leads or senior developers. Some individual freelance developers take on whole projects by themselves.

So, in the end, it is always a good choice to get expertise in full-stack development.

How to choose the right stack?

  • Make sure to pick the right software company.
  • If you did your research diligently, you now have a partner you can discuss this topic with and follow their advice. If you already have an app, consider their advice as well. Chances are that your stack may need an update for various reasons, including scalability and technologies getting obsolete.
  • Be informed at every stage of the process as much as possible by improving your methodology of choosing the right developers and vendors, learning more about stacks, and asking for advice. CTO of the software company you partner with should be a great source of high-level strategic information about web development stacks.

Now, let’s start the list…!!

MERN Stack

Best web development stack

MERN is one of several variations of the MEAN stack (MongoDB Express Angular Node), where the traditional Angular frontend framework is replaced with React JS. The main benefit of using MERN is the integration of React and its powerful library and the capability to use code simultaneously on servers and browsers. Additionally, it has phenomenal full-stack development (front-end and back-end) possibilities. Besides, React utilizes JavaScript XML and Virtual DOM, and these components work and implement changes seamlessly.

React is a popular framework known for its flexibility and performance-oriented approach, enabling the building of top-end single-page apps with interactive interfaces. You can check Materio React Next JS Admin Template. It is the most developer-friendly & highly customizable React Admin Template

Also, available in Laravel Dashboard Version:

LAMP Stack

Best Web development stack

LAMP is an old classic industry standard when it comes to time-tested web development stacks, which comprises MySQL (Relational Database Management), Linux (Operating System), PHP (Programming Language), and Apache (HTTP server). It is open-source and available for free. The stack runs efficiently on all operating systems. In web development, it provides the website with the best performance, cost efficiency, and flexibility. Besides, its components can be interchanged or modified within the same stack. LAMP refers now to a generic software stack model and its components are largely interchangeable.

For a better example, you can check the Sneat Bootstrap 5 HTML Laravel Admin Template. It is the latest developer-friendly & highly customizable Admin Template based on Laravel 10 and Bootstrap 5. Firstly, thanks for your post. It's really useful to refer.

The following section seems to be incorrect because the section is PERN , but the picture represents the LAMP stack.

The front-end technology stack principally comprises HTML, CSS, Java, and so forth.

Hopefully not, but there was a time when people actually used Java "applets" as front-end web components. Also there was a time, when Perl (not "Pearl" as you wrote in your picture) was widely popular.

You might want to mention MariaDB as a mySQL alternative and add sources for the "best performance" claim of LAMP stack, as performance can depend on many factors. I have seen slow websites no matter which technology. Also worth noting that PHP has become faster with that latest upgrades (from PHP 5 to PHP 7, and also when upgrading to PHP 8).

Talking about page speed / performance, consider Preact als an alternative to React in the MERN stack.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Solid.js (with typescript), Actix (rust) and a DB, let's say MongoDB? :)
