I'm sorry to be that negative person, but it sounds to me that Sara is learning to code purely because of the current job market, which can lead to some very frustrating situations for her in the future, potentially back to the same situation she's in right now, regretting her choice of jobs.

I see your point Carlos, but I have a different view on this. To me, you can't work with programming if you don't love what you're doing. Is just that this area demands so much of you. She didn't like Java, so she gave up. Java has one of the best jobs offers out there and yet she gave up. Maybe what made Sara start on this field, was the possibility to fullfill her dream (traveling to SA, which requires $) and the quality of life this job may get her. What, in a way, is what we all are looking for. But what makes her keep trying to learn and improve, it's because she liked it and may have found her right path :) but maybe I'm being that positive person tho, oh well...

This is true, but it doesn't strike me as this being the case for Sara, at least not for what the writer says, since the post says that she seems happier now, even though she's kinda working extra hours (her job and also her freelancing) without making that much more money, so I guess she's happier because she likes what she's doing now, not for the money or other job opportunities :) that's my humble opinion though, and I say it from experience, because right now I'm also working more than I used to, I actually have 2 jobs, but since both of them have to do with coding, I love them both xD
