Hi Jess! I just applied for the open Front End Engineer position, and I was curious what you think are the most important skills and qualities for applicants for this role? Is there anything someone can do to set themselves apart?
A small yoz-type object.
Developer Advocate at @LaunchDarkly.
Previously: Compaas, 18F, Linden Lab (Second Life), FaxYourMP/WriteToThem, Limmud.org, and The Digital Village (h2g2).
Good question! Those of us in this thread are (mostly) Developer Advocates rather than Front End Engineers, but I'll window.postMessage() a question for them and see what happens...

The most important qualities are collaboration and empathy. For front-end candidates we're also looking for a robust understanding of Javascript and CSS fundamentals.
I hope that's useful. Good luck with your application!
