I started my coding journey off with Python playing around with a Discord bot for a private server. That turned into two servers then three that my bot was running on. Before I knew it I found myself playing with coding my bot than playing video games with the friends on the shared Discord servers.
I began thinking that I would like to start doing some real coding and program something, but without any formal education, every route seemed a bit overwhelming. Soon, I looked into bootcamps since that sounded like a good place to start and find my way into the coding scene and make a career out of it. With a few university classes under my belt (some of them with coding in C++) I decided to go through a bootcamp instead to help jump me into a career with plans to return to university.
I have learned many things about web development through Flatiron and I hope this helps me towards a career later on with developing application software. I haven't chose a direction yet, but anything at this point will be a good place to start.
I am currently doing factory work and it has never felt like the place to spend my potential on. Ever since leaning hard into coding/programming it has taken me away from nearly ever activity that I used to have fun with in order to change my life forever.
The most satisfactory feeling I have ever had was creating a button that had been given some neat styling through the use of CSS and given the functionality of producing a list names (that were randomly generated) was the first feeling of success I had. That moment was with a Rails project that without the learning I've gained with Flatiron would have never been a possibility this quick.
It has been good to learn by the books, but I'm ready to take on real projects with some actually meaning behind them. To truly make some out of nothing which has always felt like some kind of magic to me until I began messing with code almost 4 years ago.
