Local Hack Day: A community get together

I honestly just started coding in the fall, specifically October. My university, University of Rochester, hosted Dandyhacks, which is a member event of MLH. It sounded cool, so I gave it a shot. Despite never having coded, and blessed by the mighty power of Stack and Google, I won 2 awards at Dandyhacks. Hey, maybe coding isnt so bad after all?

From there on, I got more and more into the coding community, and was able to learn so much more after 23 Hackthons, wining 13 of them despite my measly skill. All of this was possible because of the supportive community of Hackers that guided me, from mentors, to awesome teammates, and awesome organizers.

Through Local Hack Day, I was able to get together in a guild with Hackers from all over the world, allowing me to expand my horizons more than ever before, and I've never been more grateful to our awesome community.

Keep it up, and never stop hacking!
