I was invited to interview at a Blockchain startup, "they're looking for people just like you" said the recunter so I foolishly agreed to attend, I'd made it clear from the beginning to the recruiter that I was looking for a junior/midlevel role.
I received an email confirmation later that day with the subject line reading: "Senior Frontend Developer - Interview with AB - Tomorrow 20.2 at 11:00 - 14:00" so I immediately replied reiterating my skill level
amongst other things in the email:
Please notice that you will probably have to stay with us not more than 3 hours.
I went to the interview and was greeted by the HR and Recruitment manager and introduced to a Senior developer then was left to complete a technical test in a cafeteria area coming up to lunchtime.
I made it clear that I had no experience with Redux, however, the technical test was with Redux 🤷♀️ on a Mac which I haven't used before so was unfamiliar with the layout of the keys.
So, loads of alarm bells should have been ringing but I tried to concentrate on getting through the test, with the lunchtime rush hour happening around me in the cafeteria. Needless to say, the test didn't go well...
After the interview I politely requested feedback, which I got 😲:
Not enough knowledge of redux - no experience of Redux
🙃
This taught me a valuable lesson, never go to an interview lasting longer than an hour unless they are going to reimburse you for your time.
If there was a mention of a technical test I'd usually say thanks but no thanks, even for take-home tests, I didn't have time to do them so the interview process went no further.

Happened to me too, is a bad thing to start with.
Blockchain startup and redux? Lol
